Addons and macros for Anub 25man Hardmode adds.

Hi, so within the next few weeks I will be getting rotated in for our pally tank who currently tanks the adds. I have my unhittable set ready, but I am worried about aggro. I will be getting TotT, but I am worried about having one or two adds ripped off me. Are there any good addons or macros I should look into? And any tips and tricks you use while tanking them? I don't consider myself very good at aoe tanking as is.

IIRC, Aloft can be used to show threat on the nameplates, as well as tell you when aggro is being peeled off you.

Additionally, you may want to look into customizing your character's gearing, talents and glyphs for this one if you're really truly worried.

Things you might like to try:
- Retaliation macro (at least it'll work once)
- Titanium Shield Spike (could be great since you'll be blocking often and the adds are hasted 4x)
- Glyph of Cleaving (like a Heroic Strike but on 3 mobs instead of 2)

Don't forget 5/5 Shield Specialization, and ignore Focused Rage. You'll be making roughly 20rage/sec with 4 adds on you with 5/5 SS.

Hope this helps!

I've noticed Alofts AoE threat doesn't work most of the time.

All I can recommend is make sure you have Omen visible and tab between the mobs, that way you can check threat on both, see who's creeping up and voice any concerns to the raid. Many times I have let the DPS know to ease up on one of the adds because I've been focusing on the other.

Its not as easy to tab for the mobs when there are 5 targets.

True, true.

However upon further research I have discovered that due to the API changes you can no longer get AoE threat values, only threat for the target you are attacking.
Any mod that does attempt to estimate threat will be using the information from the combat log, which isn't a good estimation of actual threat.

But for anub adds you should have generally 2 in 25 man, 4 at most, so tabbing between won't be too hard if you just keep pressing tab and watch omen (eventually you will get through them all! )
Failing that show nameplates and click on each.
As they all have the same name you cant make a target macro, so you're left with two options for targeting. One being clicking and the other tab targeting.
