Camera zoom speed seems to be broken

My mouse died on me, so i went out and bought a G500 from Logitech, which is an awesome device, except now my zoom speed in the game seems to be slower then it used to be, not to be point of being unplayable but enough to make my gaming hell for extended sessions. I tried fiddling with setting of all sorts, changed every setpoint control option i found, used the cameraDistanceSmoothSpeed control both through the console as well as by editing the config file. Nothing seems to work. I even installed an addon made specifically to change the zoom speed but that doesn't work either. Anybody knows what the hell is going on? I know its not the mouse fault because zoom speed works perfectly everywhere else, except in wow. Any ideas?

Mmmmm, hate to say it but it is probably the mouse.

I used to have a Logitech G500, which had the same super-slow zoom speed like your experiencing. Then I switched over to a Razer Diamondback 3G mouse and the zoom speed was back to normal. Also use a Super-Walmart Super-Mouse (made in China of course) for my laptop, and the zoom speed is about the same as the Razer (although the Razer has an adjustable mouse wheel speed).

Damn. I'm guessing the game zoom speed is based on how many "ticks" the wheel gets on rotation, regardless of the speed of the actual scrolling through the mouse driver. What i don't understand is why i can't change the scrolling speed in the game. The setting is there, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Indeed, it seems that the config file resets itself to the original state every time i log in the game, thus erasing the command line. I guess i can make the config file read only, just to see if the command has any effect, but i'm sure that is going to make the game crash. There has to be a solution for this, the last thing i want to do is buy another mouse.

Here yee go:

Guess I should mention this is on Windows 7, not sure if this option is available on Windows XP or Vista (although I would assume it exists on Vista).

This also is my work computer with a standard Dell mouse. Logitech might have something fancy going on that prevents this option from appearing.

Oh, and I didn't test it, I'm just assuming this works. :-D
