Blizzard's SCTD

Is there any way to change the location of blizzards default SCT damage?

It seems to me that the default damage above enemies heads is starting its scroll at enemies' feet instead of above their heads. Crits and multiple hits at the same time are the worst as it completly covers anything smaller than a boss.

Don't think so. I had a play about with it a while back to see if it could rival MSBT which i'd used previously. Unless i missed something, it's pretty barebones with not much configuration options (pretty par for the course concernng blizzards "copys" of popular mods).

I think the only options with text location are how it scrolls: arc, scroll up and scroll down. there's no filter options for buffs either.. i wanted to use it to show a bloodsurge proc but the only way is to make it show all auras gained; in a 25 man raid it meant my screen was completely spammed with combat text.

I am not referring to that.

I am strictly talking about the damage I do appearing above enemy heads.

Ah ok i misunderstood. As Squats said, i think your best bet is using MSBT. You can turn off the default combat text with it so it only shows the MSBT output, and that's almost infinitely configurable and you can put it wherever you like on screen.

the problem with those are that as a tank I feel that any mod that moves my damage away from the top of peoples heads makes it harder to know what you are actually attacking in terms of aoeing.

no you really wont. A group of mobs is coming at you, you see a dodge/miss/parry above a mobs head.

If you use something else you would not know which one to taunt.

I use parrot, which is pretty much the same as MSBT. I never had any trouble with it not putting numbers above mobs heads. They are still there for starting at the heads for me. Is this just certain mobs?

maybe you have that issue, i know i dont. my eyes are great at seeing everything so i catch those dodges, misses, and parries that populate RIGHT NEXT to my warrior. that combined with a good tooltip addon that shows who is targeting me. quick swipe over the group and if someone isnt targetin me, they get clicked on and attacked/taunted/etc. quick reaction skills are necessary to do it this way though...its just a suggestion. if you dont have the reaction speed, then it obviously wont work for you.

I'm quite certain that he have reaction speed, just I'm pretty sure he want to have that info over mobs that he is hitting.

Back to the topic. Font size/type can be changed. With changing it you might get what you want. Tweaking directly fonts folder, no addons needed. Have a look there Dark.
