Addons, Addons, and more Addons! Oh My!

So every tank has their preferred UI setup and mod list that they cannot live without. In my personal boredom on a maintenance day, I want to start a list of the MOST popular addons.

When I am starting my downloads after re-installing WOW the first Addons I get are as follows:
Unit Frame - Pitbull or Xperl
Chat Mod - Prat
Tooltip Mod - Cowtip
Threatmeter - Omen
Cooldown Mod - OmniCC

So let's see what you consider the be the backbone of your UI!

The main addons I use would be: Bartender4, Pitbull, and Quartz.

I have to have a HUD and scrolling combat text. For the longest time I was hooked on MetaHUD until I could no longer find updates for it and I have switched to IceHUD and it has worked wonderfully. Miks Scrolling Battle Text is what I have been using for scrolling combat text since the 3.0.2 patch, I don't I will be going back to the default scrolling text or SCT anytime soon.

I'd probably just need Bartender4, Pitbull, MSBT and OmniCC. Even now I think I only have <10 mods going?

Bartender4, Pitbull, OmniCC, Satrina Buff Frames, Prat, Squeenix, MSBT, Recount, Omen. I don't think I"m using anything else. Oh I guess I'm using Carbonite Quest too, but that's not really a UI thing, it's a questing thing and will get removed once I hit 80.

I would keep it (just disable it) for when you need to go to zones to quest up some gold.

Addons I can't live without:

Cartographer
Omen
Dominos

Addons I have but don't really need that much:
QuestHelper
Recount
Fubar and associated mini-addons
Pitbull (I use some pitbull frames in addition to blizzard default)

As a tank and raid leader, I find xloot and baudmark quite useful. Magicmarker is a neat marking addon too once you've got it set up correctly.. no idea if it has been updated for Wrath.

This site/forum is seriously a Godsend, no idea why it took me so long to find it.

Anyway, on to my query: I'm noticing a lot of you warriors using Pitpull, is that what would be recommended now over Xperl?

It's just preference Gradon, use what you're comfortable with. I've had bad experiences with Xperl, and Fame turned me onto Pitbull.

Fair enough. I'll download and try it out, see which I like more. Thanks for the input.

Is there really anything different about to two?

CARBONITE QUEST - (was having problems with Questhelper after the expansion, so tried Carbonite and was impressed) Also, Carbonite allowed me to do away with Cartographer & Map Notes with a better mapping system (after I got used to it!)
MACAROON BARS - A #1 must have as far as I'm concerned. Has a learning curve, but after you figure it out, I couldn't live without it. (replaced Trinity Bars)
OMEN & DEADLY BOSS MODS- Guild and tanking required
RECOUNT - Nice to see what happened
XPERL - Never tried Pitbull.. but am happy with Xperl, so disinclined to change
MIKS SCROLLING BATTLE TEXT - New to me.. but love it!
ALTOHOLIC - Makes it easy to track all yer 'stuff' and professions on other alts

I think pitbull looks a lot more sleek than Xperl does.
