Healer mana check?

Is there a mod out there that will check the healers' mana that way I can tell when it is safe to pull? It isn't an issue at the moment, but it will be in level 80 raids. I want to pull if the healers have enough mana to support it.

The short answer is no - there is no way a mod could possibly know. A healer may use more or less mana on a pull depending on a large number of factors, including:

* How good the healer is - are they using the most mana efficient spells
* How good the tank is - are they keeping aggro off the healer, and using appropriate mitigation skills to stop huge damage spikes (shield block, etc)
* How good the gear of the tank is - a healer will use less mana if the tank has lots of HP/Armor etc.
* How much damage the entire group takes - this comes down to how good the tank is, if the group follows marking, and focuses their DPS etc.
* Any many more besides...

I'm afraid its something that you'll just have to learn - however any mana user who is any good should call for a mana break if they need to, or just start drinking - if you see someone drinking, wait for them to finish

Just a decent raid mod with mana bars should be sufficient. How should a mod tell how many mana the next pull will consume?

Just learn how hard witch mobs are hitting you / the raid and to estimate how good your healers can manage their mana. Many trash pulls don't need all healers to be healing so half of your healers can actually finish drinking while you pull.

I'm not looking for a mod that will make decisions for me. I'm merely looking for a mod that will aid giving me information about the status of my healers' mana. That way I don't pull and realize they are OOM and didn't say anything. Our healers have a bad habit of being too quiet about their mana pool.

Perhaps try something like XRS or RaidBuffStatus - I think they have low mana warnings or bars for healer mana. However, I would think sometimes you really want to know which of your healers have mana and which don't, for which raid bars are better - the lazy one that does bugger all healing is a bit irrelevent to the decision to pull

Yeah for deciding when to pull or not you really do need to know which healers have mana and how much. Just get your raid frames to show mana, you should build up a feel for what your healers need for various situations as you raid with them.

Agreed, check out the XRS mod. It uses bar graphs to indicate overall raid health, mana, etc. Pretty nifty mod.

XRS will do that for you, but there is also a different approach, if you have Pitbull frames simply enter this code into Party/Raid > Texts > Power (or anywhere else that you want it to appear)

[IsMana ? if PercentMP <= 30 then
PercentMP:Hide(0):Color('ff7f7f')
end]
This will show the mana % if it is under 30% (you can change the nmber by simply editing the "30" within the code.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'm going to try XRS and see if it fits what I need. If not, I'll definitely try the other suggestions.
