ArkInventory is pure sex, seriously best bag mod I have used.. auto organises everything into areas based on what you tell it to do.
bartender of course.

I can't live without IceHud, but a Hud isn't for everyone. My can't live without list:
IceHud
MSBT
Bartender/Dominos (haven't tried the new versions of either yet so I can't say which I like better)
Auctioneer + Gatherer
ArkInventory
I'm likely forgetting some. I plan on trying some of the new LDB mods to see if I like them better than just plain old FuBar.

I am getting about 10 to 19 errors when I log in now with my old addons. I removed them all and installed the bare essentials:
Pitbull - Works but shows errors.
Omen - YAY It works!
Recount - Works
Dominos (I used Bongos Before)
SCT - Does not work
Bagnon - Works
Prat - Broken beyond belief
FuBar, FuBar-Performance
Buggrabber and Bugsack - Grabber works, Bugsack does not.
Squeenix - Works
After installing these a ton of stuff didnt work. Pitbull loads fine but all the modules that go with it IE Aura's are showing up red in my addon screen.
I used to use Elkanos but I am going try out Satrina's buff bar. I think tonight I will be dropping all my addons except Omen and Dominos and Sat's buff bar just to get some raids going.
Anyway I can't wait to lose sleep this weekend to get all of my normal addons configured the way I need them to be.
This is my goal to get back to. Pre 3.0 UI

if there's one thing i hate about patches, is fixing your UI. sigh, time to start from scratch I guess.

I hear you Kazey. A complete rebuild is in order for myself as well.
As far as WoW Ace goes: I was under the impression that they had merged/joined with curse. All Ace mods can now be found at wow.curse.com. This includes Fubar, Omen, Bartender 4.0, Pitbull, etc.

Where's Fame damnit, he needs to load up a full UI like before so I can spend only 1 hour tweaking it and not 5 days trying to build mine from scratch lol.

seriously, for all that curse is awesome, their client is bloated, slow and ungainly to use.
as much as WAU sucked in some areas it was fast and simple to use.
Curse should grab WAU and work from that.

My UI is tweaked from Fames UI for Firstblood from way back! I am going to mess around with it a little bit tonight though I am horrible about uploading files and tweaking my WTF folder to upload a full UI. Plus I never clear out my WTF folder so I am sure there is a ton of stuff in it that is worthless now.

Jude works really well for me. Nice big icons that sit at the top of my screen.
i'm messing with magic marker aswell, it auto arks stuff based on just swiping your mouse over the group.. but it needs a bit of training and setting up. I figure it will make instance runs (now that i do those again) quicker if I need CC.

Curse should grab WAU and work from that. | Agreed. Blah to auto-updaters. I just manually download it. It takes longer, but I know what I am getting and when. Their servers are always slow after patch day anyway.

Bongos and Bartender use the same exact keybinding system. In Bartender you type /kb and it lets you just hover over a button and press a button to bind it.

Can anybody recommend a good replacement for Cartographer and it's various modules? I used it to - Show world maps
- Allow note placement
- Mark mining / herb / primal mote locations
- Show dungeon maps
- Show dungeon loot
Apparently it's defunct now though. Boo!

I spent ~3 hours yesterday setting up my UI.
This was helpful to decide what mods to delete http://www.wowinterface.com/survivalguide.php
I also used wowmatrix to update all my addons even before logging in. I deleted all the stuff that was discontinued or did not have an update within the last 20 days. Stuff that works for me.
Mods that worked fine with my old WTF folder settings:
- AG Unitframes
- Grid (GridRaidDebuffs, GridManaBars work. I had a few more mods for grid that had issues, so I deleted them)
- Squeenix
- Fubar
- Elk Buff bars
- Bigwigs
- oRA2
- Recount
Mods that worked, but had to reconfigure WTF settings:
- Bartender4 (deleted bartender 3)
- Prat 3.0 (deleted prat and all associated modules)
- Omen3 (deleted omen and threat-2.0, this I have not tested yet)
Mods that are buggy, but sort of working:
- Onebag
- Onebank
I had weird issues with my chat windows. I was unable to join any channels or see any chat. I was able to debug this issue by renaming my WTF folder, then tracing the issue by disabling the addons and then enabling one by one, till the issue reappeared. For me it was 4 sub modules for Grid and a Ni-Karma DKP system pugin that I use for my Alt BT PUG weekly. I was frustrated with the issue for ~2 hours and was almost ready to redo my whole interface from scratch. The method I mentioned above saved me a good number of hours.

I had a issue last night aswell where I could see no chat at all.. and I've not had time to find the issue. But I did have grid in so I could see who's taking aggro in the raid.
I plan of removing my whole UI and doing manual re-installs on friday/saturday.
Faction did you just basically activate one mod at a time to see which one affected the chat?

I found that my "Blacklist" mod was hiding all chat messages.

I tried IceHud and it was great until i got into a raid / dungeon and realize that its SO easy to click properties and get options popping up even if the hud is locked.. i'll have to see if its just something i need to setup. The old hud i had in 2.4x didn't interfere or change focus if i was mousing around.
Xperl is yummy but for me its utter fail. Tried it on kara and it just added about 4 people in the group and another 20+ error boxes all over the screen.
Ether way, we did 4 bosses in kara with no raid frames, no omen, no bossmods so it was rather fun (and rather easy)
