Your shield slam is ready sir

Anyone run into a mod or have a tip on how to monitor when my shield slam comes off cooldown? Currently my keybound abilities are pushed off to the side and hard to constantly monitor.

What I want is a "SHIELD SLAM NOW" hint from the interface :-)

Mik's Scrolling Battle Text has a visual reminder for everything that comes off cooldown, and comes with custom triggers announcing Revenge and S&B procs.

wow I almost fell out of my chair when i read the thread title. It just sounds like something you would say to somebody before you smash their face in with your shield.

im sure sct will have an option where it pops up whenever s&b procs. much like whenever you can victory rush or overpower now.

sct has a cooldown timer mod that is a plugin for it.

My advice on these cd timers:

I really find it to get annoying even if you only track shield slam. This thing is going to be making an indication that shield slam is ready every 6 seconds, if not faster... So get ready for it to be old fast.

We get 1.5 seconds cause of the GCD to pick up that S&B procced. That isn't too bad and with as much training for using LS and SW along with many other life-saving buttons on the GCD, we have some practice in picking it up.

Also, from what I hear, threat isn't a huge issue. Meaning that if you miss a few shield slams by 1.5 seconds, oh well. It's slightly less dmg output and slightly less threat. Ideally we want to hit every cd, but I don't see it as every being essential that we hit every S&B proc every time.

Personally, I use Cooling2 to monitor cooldown timers, and then Power Auras to monitor procs and temporary effects.

I just set up an event in SCT. I hate sct and do not use it for anything but Sword and board. I find that works well, not tracking the actual cooldown but simply the sword and board aura gain.

I had tried to get jim's cooldown pulse, and ghost pulse, along with a custom buff frame in SBF none of which would work reliably. The SCT event does however so I am using it to great effect.

Well, after getting an opportunity to actually test the patch, it turns out Power Auras has not been updated yet, if at all.

In the meantime I built a custom frame in SBF to handle all of these sorts of effects -- Glyph of Revenge, S&B, Shield Block, Last Stand, etc. It sits just under my character and lights up for the duration, with a timer counting down. I find it helps me to make quick decisions, like whether or not to spend the rage on a non S&B slam before the shield block runs out.

I was testing it so I could teach Cider how to create his own trigger, and I was like.. hrm of the sounds available, only the murloc one would stand out enough for me to notice it (all the stupid pings and wooshes are easily ignored). So i started testing it and much to Ciderhelm and Temig's enjoyment over vent, it worked LOL.

It's being maintained over on WoWInterface.

Personally I'm undecided between MSBT, Power Auras and Tell Me When. Hopefully I'll get time to set something up properly by the weekend. I wish those dummies could hit back so I can practice with Revenge!
