| | | Satrina Unit frames
Hi Satrina,
I made a search to see if you have spoken about SUF and its update to WotlK but found none.
I am a fan of your SUF and was wondering if you would update it to WoLK. In the case it is not on your plans, which Unit frames would you recommend.
Thanks,

It's updated to work as it does now in 3.0 and will go up for downloading tonight. Some updates for extra functionality are coming once everything settles down.

Hey, new to the forums, but wanted to ask something.
Satrina, just got your buff frames some days ago, and looove em =).
my question is basiclly how you "copy" your preset configurations to other chars.
for example, my main warrior is on neptulon and i got the perfect setup of your buff frames, i the do the /sbf profile choose
wich then as i get it makes the current setup to my warrior "saved".
then i logg out and logg in to for example my mage on same realm, i try to type /sbf profil copy
and have tried typing differnt things, like copy Baronen of Neptulon and even {Character: Baronen of Neptulon} since thats what came up when i choose that profile for my warrior.
so was wondering what am i missing? or is it even possible to do? =)
thanks in advance /barry

Profile copying should be fixed in beta 6.

| | | Debuffs on party members?
Satrina, I just switched to your unit frames and buff frames (as well as MSCT), and really like the look and feel. Thank you for sharing these--this combination has really helped me make the transition from rotations to priorities.
The issue I'm having is primarily when I use the same set-up for healing. No matter what I try, I can't see debuffs on my party. I do see all their buffs. I see in the set-up window where the debuffs should be appearing (right under the buffs). If they are my target, I see the debuffs there properly.
I realize it's not as important for tanking, but I'd still like to see what's happening to my healer in a 5-man. I feel like I am missing something obvious, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Update: I see now that I am one release out of date, so let me wave you off until I try it again with the one posted on 10-19.
I also discovered last night that the debuff display comes and goes. After I changed the scale on party members and re-homed them, it worked...until the next log-in.
Similarly, the scaling I use for target resets as well when I log out, and clicking on the "use UI" option gives inconsistent results for gray-ing out the other slider bars. I just click it on and off a few times until it lets me adjust them again.
But again, I'll start over with the new release.
EDIT: new version resolved these

Yeah. Unitframes were never actually meant to be released publicly =) The defaults are, of course, exactly what I want them to look like so the options haven't really been tested much. The update I need to do is pretty extensive now that people are actually using it!

Hi again,
Another small question. In SUF, the nameplates are now dark blue. When you are dead the colour changes and is not possible to read the names. Is it small thing but I was wondering any way to change the colours of the nameplates to the one it was before (that ligh blue).
Again, great job Satrina with SUF and SBF!!

Yeah, there was a change in the base UI that overrode my light blue. I changed that locally pretty quickly - after I uploaded the addon of course. It'll be in when I update next.

I just tried these out for the first time yesterday, and I really like them so far. The simplicity is a relief. I'm going to give them a go for a bit. I'd like to raise a couple things, if you don't mind:
- When I pull up the /suf option screen, the target of target window flickers constantly. This is a bit strange. It also looks like it is supposed to show buffs and debuffs in the test mode, but I've never seen it track a buff or debuff in action.
- Target castbar appears to be working each time I have an enemy selected and they are casting something, but it does not seem to show when I have myself targeted and I bandage or hearthstone or use a mount. Is that working properly?
- This is really more of a cosmetic issue, but as you have pursued such a minimalist, "need to know" approach with your design, why is the Player's Name so large? In all the other unit frame addons I've used i always disable my own name, as I know who I am. Can you put an option in there to remove it and replace it with a total percentage of health? The target and ToT frames have a % number and I find that easier to track on the fly than xxxxx/yyyyy.
I've just used the version uploaded to wowinterface on 10/19, so if you've made more adjustments to it since then, I haven't seen those yet. Thank you for your work. I like using sbf as well. |

I'm in the midst of integrating the SUF options into the interface panel, so a new release is coming soonish. A few suggested options are going into the release. As for your points:
1) Already fixed for the forthcoming release
2) That's as coded, though I will remove that for the forthcoming release as it makes no sense to disable the castbar for yourself as a target
3) I've reduced the size of the name and increased the size of your health. I can add an option for percentages, sure. I'm the exact opposite - a percentage isn't useful for me, whereas seeing that I'm at 4000 health = ohshitlaststand
