| | | Elk Buff Bars - Video Tutorial
I get at least a few requests per week on my buff bars, what the add on is, and how they can get their bars to look like mine. Instead of writing back to all the requests, it's just easier to post a video tutorial. Knock yourself out.
Part 2
**Sorry about the huge size, still working on better video compression.

XD Thanks Norrath. I've never embedded anything before, I didn't even know the forums had filefront tags for linking. For future reference, where did you get the number that links to the correct video?

It's Filefront that's stupid about it.
The ID the videos have isn't what they put in the URL for some reason.
Below the movie on the direct link, there's an "Embed" box with text in it.
<object width="450" height="338"><param name="movieID" value="http://static2.filefront.com/ffv6/player/vp_embed.swf?v=804170&autorun=false"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://static3.filefront.com/ffv6/player/vp_embed.swf?v= 804170&autorun=false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="450" height="338"></embed></object><br/><a href="http://files.filefront.com/ebbwmv/;12010063;/fileinfo.html" title="ebb.wmv">ebb.wmv</a>
The highlighted part is the actual video ID.

What a pain in the ass. I'm going to have to sign up for Veoh or something instead. Thanks.

Also Filefront is super slow for europeans. D/Ling your video at ~16.0 KB/s and it took me 6 hours to d/l Xav's Speedrun.

I have a question about how far the columns go down. I have my Elkano right where yours is, but I have my Omen below it a bit down the page. In raid I will sometimes get so many buffs that the buffs go down through and overlap Omen. Is there any way to tell Elkano that once it gets to X point to make a new column?

The movie tags were removed, btw. Just use the link to that page, it will now automatically embed (srsly!). |

(though SBF 3.0 will be much sexier when WoW 3.0 comes)

Thanks Cider!
And Satrina is right, there is no way to specify a second column for when the buffs scroll off your screen. You see it at lot as a tank with a dozen HOT's, procs, potions etc all up at the same time. I've never worried much to be honest because the only stuff I "might" be missing are the small 10 second or less buffs. You can also set up new groups with filters, something I forgot to add to this video so I'll have to update it with another one.

I love the embedding for a quick look, but I would really love to be able to download this tutorial to be able to see it a little larger (mine old eyes and all...) Is there a chance at a direct download link or a filefront user page link?

I'm using SBF to add 2 frames besides buffs and debuffs. I don't want to be hunting among hots, raid buffs, and real important things like my emergency button durations, shield block/spell reflect timers, and SSO neck or other item procs. To do this currently I have to manually specify each buff's name that is not a hot that I want in my main front and center short buff frame. SBF already has the short duration feature built in as a frame filtering choice. I then send everything else to the last frame which usually is just hots, sometimes the random totem effect.
does this mod simplify this procedure perhaps?

You can grab the file there, if I try to post a direct link it just embeds the video. Source: obtuse

What is the benefit to doing this with elk vs doing it with another buff mod?
