Thumbs down Default Combat Log

I must say I want my old defalt blizz combat log back. I cant figure out how to set this thing up to save my life.

I have it checked to self. Then have both done to and done by me just checked nothig else.

The color scheme is ok but makes it kinda messy at a side glance wich is when I really need it to see if im messing up and missing my SB and messing up a rotation when avoiding crushing is important.

Also for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make is show my spell reflect and how much it reflected.

I am also not seeing how much I resist in res gear on my SCT thru the blizz defualt.

Is it time to get some specific add ons to control these 2 fuctions of my ui? And if so what do you other tanks reccomend.

I like to keep as few addons in my folder as poss. That way I dont have to constantly update when stuff breaks due to patches. Basically less to worry about not working.

I use a handy tool provided by my guild master who is a coder too, its a uploader for the guild wich when installed automatically updates all guild required addons and has a huge list for extra ones that can be checked. Its mostly Ace addons. But its a great too to have. I just open it hit the update button and im done.

I'm hating the new combatlog, too.
Before 2.4 I had SimpleCombatLog - worked fine. I only want to see my outgoing actions and the incoming actions from the mob to me. I'd like to see if any melee attack was parried and who has attacked.
I've got no clue how to configure the Blizzard-combatlog right to only show those things. Is anyone there who knows an addon for 2.4 which works or can tell me how to configure the combatlogsettings, please?

Everyone kept complaining about the combat log, and I had never even seen it. Pick up the mod SCT, instead of using Blizzards Default, all these add-ons are available from wow ace updater.

I like SCT however I found MikScrollingBattleText and haven't looked back. It inherits all of SCT's features, and then some, in an easy to use package. He responded to a comment I made on curse suggesting a trigger to play a sound whenever Shield Block is off cooldown and it might be included in the next revision. I suggest everyone at least give it a try.

Use Parrot (wowace.com). Parrot has all SCT features, allows you to play sounds on events you define and is nicely updated by WAU.
