A word of wisdom IF it is an ace2 addon the best place to get it is http://www.wowace.com/ . Also I in no way guarantee these links will take you to the newest version of said mod. I have only used reliable sites for the hyperlinks in question the main sites used were cursegaming.com wowinterface.com wowace.com and the occasional Mods home website namely DBM.
** You can thank Gyre for suggesting I not be lazy and put in links to these mods (although he didn't call me lazy).

Is Violation actually a threat meter? I've been using it forever and I just use it as a damage meter... I've never heard of it being a threat meter. Weird.

Good list. I might suggest to add a number of good unit frames to this as well as Satrinas new buffbar mod which is very nice and customizable. Link to the latter:

yes rak it does have a threat meter but i cant say how accurate it is. I personally only use violation to extend my combat logs range to 200 yards for both recap and WWS.

wws explains that you can just input a few lines of code to increase your combat log range without having to use violation.

You could just copy the script into a macro and hit it when you log on.

Lemme find it:

/console SET CombatLogRangeParty "200"
/console SET CombatLogRangePartyPet "200"
/console SET CombatLogRangeFriendlyPlayers "200"
/console SET CombatLogRangeFriendlyPlayersPets "200"
/console SET CombatLogRangeHostilePlayers "200"
/console SET CombatLogRangeHostilePlayersPets "200"
/console SET CombatLogRangeCreature "200"

i personally really like xperl - the party target frames are glorious in 5mans.
titan bars are nice as well. ive never used bartender or bongos.
cooldown count - shows big yellow cooldown numbers. i know trinity has similar built in. dont know about bongos / bartender.
autobar - loads up all the useful stuff into one bar.

there is a wowace updater which is fantastic to get pretty much everything I need updated in one go...

oh and Recount is the best damage meter ever - you get tons of stats breakdown, reporting is simplified and can see fight by fight (last 5) as well as over the whole night

http://www.wowace.com/wiki/WinAceUpdater

This tool provides an easy way for you to keep your Ace addons up to date. When it first launches, it will download a list of available addons from WowAce downloads. If it can determine your local World of Warcraft installation folder, it will also compare that list with the addons you currently have installed and pre-check them.

Check the boxes of any addons you want to update/download and choose "Update Checked Addons" from the File menu (or press F12). The status of the download will be presented in the lower pane.

Per request (will get into this in private forums) -- can we work on short descriptions of these mods and link as many of them to Curse as often as possible? (not just you, Psycho, but help from everyone in writing short descriptions)

I use a mod called AutoCL that automatically turns on my combat log and sets the logging range to max whenever I step into certain zones. I currently have it setup to turn on in all of the raid zones.

You should throw "Tankalyze" in there with Taunt buddy and such. I've tried all those mods and Tankalyze was the best. Announces Challenging shout resists, taunt resists, mocking blow misses, and announces other things like when you use shield wall or last stand. Plus you can customize where it puts these announcements. Raid warning, or yell so it stands out... etc. Not to mention it's a very small mod.

Most links to the Ace2 addons are to the curse site, not the main site for Ace2 nor containing nearly the amount of updated files as World of Warcraft Addons - WowAce.com. As Mozman stated using an auto updater for Ace2 addons is a great way to keep all your addon files up-to-date, though I prefer JWowUpdater
