My Tank is 3/4 25ToC/10HToC geared (40k health, etc) (The World of Warcraft Armory (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Akama&n=Neglar)) and my role is generally a MT.

I was wondering what your opinions of the Glyph of Indomitability vs the Brewfest Trinkets/Black Heart (Which is normally what I use right now.. stupid Jugger trinket hasn't dropped for me yet :( )

I like the extra armor/dodge use.. but losing just about 2k health makes makes me want to cry lol..

What do you think? (This is for raid progression.. H25ToC, H10ToC, Icecrown when it comes out)

Warrior How do you determine if a piece is an upgrade???

So, I'm tanking 10 man Uld at the moment and have started to come across gear (from there and 5 man heroic ToC) that I'm having trouble detrimining if they are upgrades.

I've come across a lot of gear where I gain say 500 health and .5% dodge but loose 1 expertise and .3% parry. Or I gain 1% in dodge but loose 1000 health and .5% in parry. Raitings buster is always showing a few stats going up with the same or more stats going down, and I'm stumped on what to do.

I've got a bank FULL of gear off of 10 mans and Heroics that i just dont know if it is better. I'm posting here because most of the lists out there now are for people running 25 man ToC or 10 man ToC on the bottem end :(. Anyone out there have a good system on how you determine if a piece of gear is an upgrade?

Any and all help is appriciated!

General Gear Type and Rolling

A few days ago I watched an interesting event occur and I was hoping to figure out the general consensus on whom was at fault.

During a raid of Tocr25 a debate occurred over whom should be able to roll on the different types of loot. While I suppose you could call the raid a PUG. It was mostly members of two different guilds, however, most, if not all, of the members had run with the host guild before.

The run goes well and we down the beasts after a few tries, mainly due to Icehowl trampling players, and a mail caster belt drops. Out of the raid there are only two players that want it: a Holy Paladin and a Shaman. The paladin wins the roll but, after a discussion with the Raid Leader, agrees to cede the belt to the shaman as it was more of an upgrade for him (226 vs. the paladin's 232).

The raid continues and we down Jaraxxus. A caster wrist piece drops and the paladin and a druid roll. The paladin wins again. Without any notice the raid leader gives the wrist piece to the druid even though the item was barely an upgrade (232) and for the paladin it would have been massive (213). At this point the paladin is slightly confused and asks why he was passed over after A) he had won the roll and B) by the logic of the first loot distribution he should have gotten the item due to the amount of the upgrade . This responds in an uproar from the guest guild who pronounce that the Holy paladin "needs" the armor for fights and that any Holy Paladin that doesn't use said plate is a "failadin". The paladin stayed in the raid, which I commend him for, especially as, for the rest of the night, he was heckled by the non-host guild.

In the end the paladin still received loot after a SP plate chest dropped and the other paladins passed on it after watching the beating the aforementioned holy paladin has received all night. Ironically, the item wasnt really an upgrade for him.

Now my question is: Who was in the right? Should the Paladin have rolled on non-plate gear even though stat-wise it was a major upgrade or should he had left it for the other classes even if it wasn't an upgrade for them?

So, currently most End game tanks currently are gemming for socket bonuses, has anyone got any solid math on which is going to be best to gem for when ICC comes around, (sticking with endurings/regal or just going for straight stam again, or replacing endurings with stam and regals with defenders, which is parry stam)

General How does T gear work?

Right... Get the flame guns ready... Here I come with a noob question... ;)

While reading through these threads on Tank Gear (and many other sites too) I read a lot about Tx Gear - now while I understand these as based on Tokens, I don't understand how you get the gear and are these Tokens the same as Emblems of (blah)...?

Let me give you an example. An Chest item listed in Demog's fantastic WotLK Tanking Gear List is " Heroes' Dreadnaught Breastplate (http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=39611), Source: T7(10)" (sorry - don't know how to enter mouseover links). When you visit WOWHead this items shows as costing "Chestguard of the Lost Protector"...!?! Confused!!!

So my question is twofold:

1. How do you get these items if you first have to be in possession of another item? Do you have to work your way backwards?

2. Are tokens the same as Emblems?

I'm sure I'm an idiot (it must be all this tanking - being smacked around the head a few too many times) but if someone can link a page that details this kinda thing or even spend the time to explain it to me I'd be a most chirpy-chipper-chappie...

Thanks in advance... :D

So we are having a discussion in our guild about a couple of weapons that dropped and why a specific weapon doesn't perform like we thought it would. I am sure someone here can shed some light on it?

One of our DK's won Reclaimed Shadowstrike from Ony 10 man...

He replaced his Ironsoul with it and saw a drop in DPS by about 150...

He had an option to get Reckoning from 10 man ToC Reg.

Now Reckoning ilvl 232 "appears" to to have similar characteristics as Shadowstrike ilvl 232, but shows to perform better on paper. In an actual test his Ironsoul ilvl 219 even performed better. I know I am missing something here...how is this math working out to favor the ilvl 219 weapon? All needed weapon skills are maxed.

Thoughts?

Warrior Weapon Upgrade and Chant Question

Hi folks. Got my first clear of ToC10 last night and I won Crusaders Glory (ilvl 232 version). I've been using Last Laugh for a long time. It doesn't seem like a huge upgrade but due to the slightly faster speed, lots of armor, and a little more DPS I'm still calling it an upgrade. Oh and the racial expertise bonus is nice too (Human + Sword).

I've spent some time reading all the arguments about weapon enchants. I've been using accuracy on my Last Laugh since I got it. Right now I'm mostly tanking Ony, VOA, and TOC in both 10M and 25M. (We have no true MT so we swap who does what for tanking quite a bit so we all get practice). I've also tanked a couple of the ToC10 Heroic mode.

For the current tank weapon enchants here is what I believe is the case (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

Blood Draining for Effective Health
Blade Ward for Avoidance
Accuracy for Threat

Since I'm late getting into all the 3.2 stuff (I took the whole summer off from WoW). Most of our DPS and Healers out gear me. Due to this I'm thinking of going with Accuracy again on my new weapon but I'd like some input from other tanks before I spend the money.

Thanks for any help with this one.

Warrior DPS spreadsheet and SEP

I downloaded, and have been playing with, Landsoul's dps spreadsheet. I noticed that after a certain point, the SEP for crit exceeded strength. This sounds like it means that once my dps reaches that point, I'm better off gemming for crit. However, I never hear that suggestion; the debate seems to be between strength and ArP, at least if you have enough ArP. Since I don't have enough ArP from gear yet for it to be worth stacking to the exclusion of strength, should I actually actively seek crit once I reach a point where it's more valuable than strength, or am I still better with strength? I am currently axe specced, if that makes a difference.

I won Relentless Gladiator's Plate Gauntlets - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40810) the other day in VoA 25. What do you all think about tanking with them? I have plenty of +DEF and Avoidance atm. These things have a ton of STAM and the +Resilience too. Here's my armory for reference:
The World of Warcraft Armory (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Terenas&n=Apollux).

Forgive me if this sounds ridiculous, but I'm just looking for some opinions. :)
