I'm not entirely sure if everyone is having this issue or if it's specific to Bonechewer, but when the Thaddius goes lives, we almost immediately begin lagging. I'm talking a big, nasty 2 second+ delay. When he finishes casting Polarity Shift, our charges do not update quickly, and last week it made him unkillable (despite having cleared Heroic Naxxramas the week before).

We were using a simple run-through strategy where the camps remain static in relation to which charges go where. Positive camp is always here. Negative camp is always here. Run to the other one if you change, otherwise stay put.

It worked great in 10-man, and 25 man before our server started screwing the pooch.

We're gonna try the quarter-turn strategy that we used back in 40-man Naxx to compensate for the server's lag.

Back when I was MT healing in Naxx on my paladin, I was frustrated by the quarter turn strategy as it made everyone move constantly, interrupting healing and DPS. With the run-through strategy, we seemed to get more DPS because people would luck out and not have to move for 30+ seconds sometimes, really letting them lay into him and fully utilize cooldowns.

I'm still pretty divided on the issue, I think the run-through strategy is the best for maximizing DPS, but with the server lag, I just don't think it's possible.

At this point we're weighing the gains and losses of a few dead lagged players versus he time lost dpsing in transit.

I'm hoping that the quarter-turn method will be as useful now as it was then.

If anyone else is lagging badly on Thaddius due to servers or w/e, you may want to consider trying it.

Another guild suggested to me that turning your combat log off during Thaddius cuts the lag appreciably. I think tracking all the state changes with the debuffs really hurts it.

Anecdotal, and it could be we just lucked out, but I found it really made a difference.

I'll suggest that if we notice the lag tonight, and the quarter-turn approach doesn't seem to do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion.

Not probably a popular fix, but in the old 40man days guilds used to kill thaddius out of their servers "prime" time when there was recurring lag server side.

It is a problem that Blizzard is aware of and that they are trying to fix. In the mean time you can move your raid schedule around to do it when no one else is in the instance. That's pretty much your only option if you can't kill him with the lag.
