Whose strategies you use to kill a boss isn't important. The kill is important because it's what's going to make the raid happy. My adaption of this regarding being a raid leader and a leader in general for that matter is the following.

"A true leader would rather be victorious than glorious."

We'd been working on an encounter for a couple weeks and seen significant progress with a number of close kills in last night of attempts. Everyone knew that we by all rights should kill the boss tonight and turns out we did.

I've often said that I play this game for the people. It always comes up though when we are talking about progression and loot though.

And I've come to realize that's because that's all their is to the game.

1. People
- who you play with

2. Progression
- the content you get to see

3. Loot
- how you get to develop your character

Every individual has values as to how much each of those 3 things matters...
