Woot!!! 3rd Chest is ZA acquired!!

I can't help but be really stoked about completing the 3rd chest in ZA. It's kinda funny because the route we took was Eagle > Bear > Dragonhawk (by far the fastest I'd say) and we've actually only killed the Dragonhawk once. That was two weeks ago and that wasn't a 1 shot.
The reality is that ZA just isn't our focus so there really wasn't any push back when I suggested this path. It was pretty amazing though to walk into it for the first time with the new route and 1 shot everything. We had 3 minutes to spare after killing the Dragonhawk. (we went left through the bad pull rather than right through the eggs if you are wondering about our trash pulls) Overall, we really didn't have to press ourselves that much. We had more than a hand full of deaths and could easily get the time remaining at the end of the three at around 6 to 7 minutes.
Which really makes me impressed with anyone that pulled off the 4 bosses in the time. It's truly an amazing accomplishment when you've experienced just how little time there is to spare even going for 3. I'm definitely more than content with just farming 3 bosses in the time though. As much as the bear mount is a great status symbol, it doesn't do us any good.
So what did the 3rd chest drop?

Ya, suffice to say I was pretty excited although a few in the raid were board-line pissed off. The reality is that I didn't need that ring. It does complete the Passive Uncrushable set for me, but my PU set just isn't strong enough yet sitting at 13k health and 16k armor. Beyond that I might use the ring for Leo and some threat fights, but overall we'd have been way, way better off with any of the other rings.
But I'll enjoy it and I must say I'm super impressed with my crew. We killed the Dragonhawk in just basically exactly 6 minutes with the following group make up.
Group 1:
1 Prot Warrior (me)
1 Feral Druid
1 Tree Druid
1 Rogue
1 Hunter
Group 2:
2 Warlocks
1 Elemental Shaman
1 Holy Priest
1 Holy Paladin
Double lock is pretty hax for this fight especially when you've got your Holy Paladin and Feral Druid scooping up the majority of the adds. It really played a big factor having access to 2 druids during this run so we could keep the momentum going with Battle Rezes and Innervates at timely junctions.
Anyway that's all for now. Still excited and really looking forward to doing this again next week. Hopefully we can have the either of the dps rings or the healing ring drop next week. I can't even imagine the crazy mob I'd have to deal with if the tanking one dropped again!

| | If your curious, the benchmark to be able to defeat the fourth and final chest within the time limit is beating Dragonhawk with at least 13-14 minutes remaining. can't tell you how many near misses we've had. |

| | Haha ya, we don't have any expectations of doing that just yet. The reality is that with only mid-T5 level gear, we are at something of a disadvantage. |

| | Congrats, my guild got the first chest for the first time yesterday in mostly Kara gear with some badge/ZA gear. We made a good try at the second chest but decided against rushing Akil'zon since we had 3 melee and still haven't killed him that many times. |

| | Grats venny. I tried to push my group into chests this weekend, but made quite the disaster out of it. Hopefully next week I can put together a group that'll work better. |

| | Nice! We finally had a real progression run at ZA Saturday and made the first 2 timers and were close on the third. We went bear, eagle, lynx and were coming up the steps to the lynx temple with about a min left and pulled back because we weren't going to make it. There's a nice healing staff I wouldn't mind getting from the timed loot table but we got the 2h axe and a caster cloak from them this time around. I don't know if its going to go off again next week like this as it did stir up some guild drama and frankly, I need to ease up a little on my raiding. |

| | Ya I really think the fastest way by far is Eagle > Bear > Dragonhawk which makes sense b/c Dragonhawk naturally leads immediately into Lynx for the 4th kill. That being said since the timer is intended for 4 bosses not 3, I'm certain you'll be able to learn it for Bear > Eagle > Lynx given practice. |
