So amongst a blue post on pvp, we catch this little gem:

It won't be quite as easy to get deadly items via emblems of conquest as hateful items currently are via emblems of valor

...which leads me to further believe what many of us had already expected that Blizzard's Emblem plan is:

Heroics/Naxx10 = Emblems of Heroism
Naxx25/Ulduar10 = Emblems of Valor
Ulduar25 = Emblems of Conquest

...and of course whatever follows Ulduar at a 10-man level will drop Emblems of Conquest as well and the new 25-man will drop some new Emblem.

What does this mean?

There's going to be new Emblem loot, but you'll have to do the newest 25-man to get it.

I've thought the same, and I think its the best way to handle the whole emblem thing. It allows you to fill in holes, relative to the content you're doing, which seems like the whole intention of the badge/emblem system anyway.

It's also completely possible that they add in new loot for Emblems of Valor. Seen a few posts around that say something to the effect of "Emblems of Valor means I'm getting T7.25 from Ulduar 10"... when they could just add T8.10 items to the Valor vendor too.

I originally had my doubts about the idea of another Emblem but after thinking about it, its a very clever idea.

Unlike Badges of Justice or to a lesser extend just the two emblem types, you don't need hundreds of the things to get the loot you need and you get gear that is equivelant to the level of instance that you are doing.

Yep, I'm with the majority of you here; I think this is a very sound idea and should be applauded.

My only concern is is that those guilds (such as mine) who will only really be doing the 10 man content could conceivably end up "overgeared" for any 25 man raids that we may run.

In saying that, it wouldn't be too different to what will happen naturally and this will rebalance the people who are PuGing for badges and gear (the current majority) and those who will continue to clear content.

    Thumbs up, Blizzard.

I understand why they're implementing this system, but I can see two downsides already.

    1. Heroic 5-mans will become obsolete. No one is going to want to run them. Unless you implement an "x amount of Heroic badges turns into 1 Valor badge" system.
    2. I can only see it slowing down the TBC style scenario of "People farm easy content for lots of badge gear, instead of doing the actual content for gear". as opposed to getting rid of it completely.

I think eventually you'll see them implement some kind of Heroism to Valor conversion perhaps even with the release of Conquest Emblems.
