Reflections on me as a Raid Leader

Amongst the story telling of Yakra's newest blog post, he had some amazing gems of wisdom.
1. Keep your Raid in the Loop
I know when I'm really pissed off that I get really quiet. I don't yell at my raid. I do my best to never even sound disappointed in them if I can help it, but I forget how damaging my silence can be. The importance of identifying the problem and talking about how we're going to solve it so that the team knows it's going to be solved. A known enemy is easier to face than an unknown enemy.
2. Get your Raiders to Whisper you
I've definitely forgot this as a leader. I've got a good number of my raiders trained like monkeys to whispers me all of their ideas, but there's also a new batch of folks that've never really raided with me and some old timers that need a refresher course. I love to read their ideas, I hate to hear them. It just causes confusion. I have only myself to blame for this though. It's past time I got the gang and myself back on course.
So, if you are finding yourself new to leading or old and disorganized, those are 2 easy ways to get things running smoothly sooner than later.

I am the exact same way, and trying to fix it myself, I like keeping everyone involved but Vent can get annoying with 8 people trying to express ideas all at once.
I also get quiet and you can almost see moral just drop or people lose even more focus. It is fustrating being GL and RL but the rewards are worth it, when everything just clicks you know something has sunk in.
I have passed off majority of RL off on my officers and I just chime in in officer chat, it seems to help with my stress level at least.Posted 01-22-2009 at 12:16 PM by Victimtwo

I'm the exact same way as far as getting quiet when things are not working and you are correct Victim, you can feel the moral dropping. I will normally talk everyone's ears off, but after wiping on grobb multiple times (for whatever reason) i get frustrated and quiet. Not good, but working on it.
I also had never considered having people keep ideas about strat to whispers. 4 horseman last week was a cluster**** due to everyone talking about the strat they had used or seen.Posted 01-22-2009 at 08:43 PM by Lakotamani
