5 mans
- dieing to the first boss in Mana Tombs, a lot thanks to a heavy melee group
- remember when regular Black Morass was hard and heroic was impossible
- cringing at the thought of heroic arcatraz and heroic shattered halls

Karazhan
- 1 shotting Attumen
- 2342342 shotting Moroes and finding out quickly that Karazhan wasn't going to take kindly to my predominately blue gear
- Solo Tanking Moroes
- Getting to DPS on Shade of Aran and even though you gripped about it, secretly loving that this fight allowed you to justify halling around your dps gear
- Doing the Netherspite dance
- Playing Chess for easy-mode epics
- Killing Prince in 12k health and 12k armor and people believing you were well geared lewl
- Killing Nightbane and not missing a single fear

Gruul/Mag/Loot Reaver
- Surviving High King after everyone had their turn accidentally starting the encounter
- Dieing on Gruul on Growth 10 everytime and watching Offtanking 1 and 2 steal the glory
- Killing Void Reaver before Mag
- Having 5 warlocks around to do Mag, amazingly passing the dreaded raid-wide clicking test and legitimately needing a well-geared tank not just for Mag himself, but also Lock #4 and #5

SSC
- Having to get half the raid to use that X key they've never used before to avoid spouts on Lurker
- Gearing up 2 tanks in the most hideous gear imaginable to kill Hydross... wiping to a different Shaman's fire totem every damn raid
- Requiring your Shaman to use the fire totem that you just ranted about for 20 minutes in order to make Leo manageable as a Warrior
- Handing over MT duty to the Druid, specing into Piercing Howl and secretly wishing you had a Paladin to do all the hard work for you, but never admitting it until a year later
- MTing Fathomlord then realizing you have the easiest job in the room
- Finding out that when your raid was annoying the hell out of you chucking crap around during your boss explanations that in reality, they were learning Lady Vashj

Tempest Keep
- 1 shotting Al'ar after killing Loot Reaver 2 dozen times, learning how bad taunt resists can be and that you actually can battle rez a MT on a fight every now and then
- learning that some fights are over at 20% and that "have you done Baron Geddon?" may need to be a question you ask every app
- after seemingly endless learning points everything coming together in one giant moment of ecstasy resulting in a farm-style feel to your first and only Kael kill, almost making you think it's worth going back for a 2nd kill... almost

Hyjal
- Killing the final trash mob before the first boss then realizing, you just killed the boss
- Hating the "help" NPCs provide on your way to downing Anetheron
- someone always dieing to standing infront of Kazrogal as he makes his way for you to tank him by Thrall
- the first person being picked by Azgalor never remembering to run to the Tauren Warriors, getting shouted at by everyone, then ultimately in all the confusion spawning a demon in the worst possible spot
- dieing to a DC, dieing to a mountain, dieing to fear, fire, forgetfulness, falling, fucking feign death resists and finally killing Archimonde and never appreciating a kill quite so much and never finding another boss that you appreciated killing every single time b/c you never truly felt he was on farm

Black Temple
- dieing to people throwing spines too soon and people dieing to their buddy not having a single empty bag slot
- dieing to volcanoes... over and over and over again
- akama
- being stunned at how tiny Teron is
- having good enough healers do beat Gurtogg with 4 mages every week and them always getting picked
- really, really enjoying a prot paladin for phase 3 of RoS, really, really hating it when there wasn't one around
- umm... 1 shotting Mother... wtf? T6 shoulders, woot
- doing high king again except this time we had to learn that standing in stuff was bad, looting taking longer than a fight with a 15 minute enrage timer
- being prepared

Sunwell
- Just getting to experience the craziness that was Kalecgos portal rotations
- Killing Brutallus, easily thanks to nerfed content, but still appreciating nonetheless
- Felmyst... well I'll just have to tell ya tonight

Life and Job
- somehow still having them while doing all this...

Same situation as Nicki. I think I tanked something other than the hunter and pet all of... twice? At which point I tanked the priest. :P

Also, Leo: Having the raid be amazed that, as a prot warrior, I was able to kill my demons while using a shield, thus allowing the druid to DPS instead of having another prot warrior do sub-par damage. (The other prot warrior, who was the official main tank, was all but banned from tanking Leo, 'cause he couldn't kill his demon, and the druid wasn't there one time)

Vashj: Main tanking her ('cause my TPS was higher)... and dying at 3% and having the official MT finish it off. The first time we got that fight down was really nice, everything just came together perfectly.

Gruul: This is when my guild realized just how much better at threat I was then the MT. On the first attempt - also my first time ever doing Gruul on my warrior (I don't know how I managed to do most of SSC before Gruul...) - I was matching his threat almost exactly up until the first ground slam. Then I was MTing, because I got back first and stupidly didn't notice he hadn't. On the second attempt it didn't even take that long, I had pulled before the ground slam even happened, which thankfuly let the healers adjust and us to down him. :P

Not so much general stuff as specific stuff, but yeah. :P

I can relate to almost every post excluding the SWP, stopped after illidan, but nothing has more truth than these:

"- cringing at the thought of heroic arcatraz and heroic shattered halls
    - remember when regular Black Morass was hard and heroic was impossible"

I remember thinking that Heroic Arc was harder than Kara and most of SSC and TK at one point.

Definitely can relate to alot of your post. The biggest one however has to be...

"- MTing Fathomlord then realizing you have the easiest job in the room"

We were doing Karathress when our guild's tank situation was in extreme flux. After losing several and routinely only having 2 on, we finally got him down. Now whenever we take an alt group in there I have to laugh at how easy tanking Karathress himself is compared to doing any of the other three tanking jobs.

    Shorter tanking span, but:

Karazhan - 1) not missing a fear on Bane, without a macro (wuts a macro) and no priest or shammy in group 2) learning what the Q and E keys do on Nether 3) being scared to death of Prince in Phase II and then overgearing it due to fear that it was cake

Gruul - MT'ing High King is easiest part of that fight, and keeping Gruul in center of the area after Shatters was fun

SSC - 1)Tanking on FL is easiest job, period no matter what mob you have 2) Lurker - whats 500 dps from water? l2heal 3) Leo - wtf is so hard about "stop dps" and as warlock, searing pain is smexy

TK - VR - yeah......easier than anything / Alar - speed potions rock / Solarian - love you solarian alarm / Kael - go die

And old school for kicks - MC - omfg Rag must have been impossible at level 60 / BWL - Nef still wiped us, 25 level 70s.....until we hid behind the throne / Suppression room still sucks and l2LOS healers

Never tanked hyjal or BT, although again got through them on warlock, and tanked illidan once as lock. Once again, searing pain = smexy

Post patch I've found I can blow through Heroic Shatt halls with no cc, and Heroic MgT is no longer to be feared. I still remember feeling relieved when the change to the bosses "damage output" was made for Heroic BM.

Tanking in the future - I feel that alot of the buffs were needed, and definately have made tanking more fun and rewarding. Tanking in beta was fun, although didn't do any raid content (but looking forward to it!).

I started Wow with a warlock main, and leveled a warrior as an alt. Now my tank is my main for wrath, and I look foward to seeing all of PVE content from the tank's perspective.

Being a raid leader, going over the fight, the strategy you want to use, watching people not listen when I, being the MT, can see around the 5ft long schlong in my face, then re-explaining the strategy in excruciating detail and then 1 shotting the boss when everyone did as told.

mmmm like that for so many fights, half the time in begining ssc/tk I would tell people like "stand behind morogrim so the pallies can just aoe the murlocs together" then realize ranged are being dumasses and standing at max range behind tidewalker because I didn't say stand inside the fuckers ass...literally 1 shot after they changed that. by latter content I got much quicker at seeing this kind of thing and explaining strats better.

One of my most epic moments asides recently killing vashj, kael, and illi was the day MagT opened. I wasnt the most geared tank in my guild at the time just being kara geared but being one of the most capable tanks me and 3 of our best dps and one of our best healers tore through MagT then again on HMagT wiping on delrissa and Vex a bit but made it in "record" time compared to everyone else in the guild. I never feared H-MagT, but i sure as hell respecced it for the numerous wtf-wipes.
