Warriors: HowTo Prepare for WotLK without Beta Key

1. Roll a Mage.
2. Get to level 26.
3. Start Cone of Colding your little heart out.

Why?

You're training yourself to use Shockwave. I think we can all agree, warriors are going to be using Shockwave, a lot. You may not realize though that using a cone style aoe move isn't necessarily as easy as it sounds.

Practice makes perfect. Hop to it!

I'm prepared then. Leveled 2 Mages to 70. 1 entirely with AOE grinding and 1 with AOE grinding to 45, handleveling from there.

I cone of colded a lot.

alternatively, roll a bard in vanguard. At level 14 you get shockwave.

I'm not kidding. It's the exact same damn ability w/ stun and all.

Reading about Shockwave got me all excited about warrior tanking since my main is a mage and I can picture exactly how and when to use it. And yeah, Dragon's Breath is closer to Shockwave since it disorients the targets for 3 seconds. But you're going to need to level a mage to 50+ to spec for it.

The stun component isn't as important as actually learning to hit stuff lol. I remember playing my mage for the first time... when things get tense, it's surprisingly easy to miss with cone of cold completely.

Cone of cold, I remember getting that the first time on the mage and not being able to hit a thing with it. It LOOKS like you ought to be aimed at it, after all the target is in the middle of your screen and on top of you...right? Most of it was actually learning to recognize the way your toon looks at 'combat ready'. All the races have a different way of squaring off vs their target so what looks obvious to you after playing one race might not be what the game sees when you are playing another.
