On. Really On.

Ever have one of those nights where you just know you are on.
Really on.
I just had one of those nights. Every thing just flowed perfectly. Cooldowns used effortlessly. It was amazing and fun. Still don't know how I kept that crazy crew alive through Heroic SH and Bot, but WoW it was fun.
Just had to share this night. I almost always feel like I have strong play nights, but tonight I was beyond that.
I was on.

These kind of nights have become few-and-far-between since 2.3's release (no thanks to Blizz for lowering the bar for Heroics), but they do still happen on occasion. "The Zone" is a sacred, hallowed place reserved for the skilled (or extremely lucky). Savor these moments, for they are what make the game worth playing.

I don't get to that place very often. I find I play my best when I least expect it. Frantic recoveries, or not quite feeling like I'm on my game lead to some strange parses of perfect rotations and crazy TPS. When it seems like I barely know what I'm doing, or what's going on, frantic effort and subconscious taking over some of the cycles seems to work surprisingly well.Posted 01-10-2008 at 08:49 AM by Kavtor

Yes....like reaching your zen place. You don't really know what your doing, you're fingers fly over the keyboard....you have that edge. Everything slows down.
Ted Williams used to say that when he was locked in on a hot streak, the baseball looked like a beachball floating up to home plate.
You begin to anticipate things before they happen, you feel then crunch and grinding squeal of metal on metal when you bust something upside the head with a shield slam.
/sigh...I miss that. I guess I get a similar feeling when all my HoTs fit together and I can cast seamlessly, swap targets, maintain stacks of LB and put the raid on my shoulders.
More than anything, these are functions of confidence and the lack of anxiety. Performance under pressure. And even then, you sometimes hit that place way down deep that transcends even confidence but its rare.Posted 02-05-2008 at 12:29 PM by Horacio

I swear we had that happen to most of the raid one night in hyjal. went from 1/5 to 4/5 in one night and nobody died that wasn't supposed to. Everything was just...awesome. We all wanted to keep that raid going forever.Posted 11-21-2008 at 11:33 AM by Shadevarr
