Speed Racer was the most visually stunning movie I have seen since I first laid my eyes upon The Matrix. Within five minutes your eyes will be tantalized like never before. I won't say much more, but I will say that the movie holds its own without the stunning visuals. This movie blew my senses and surprised the fuck out of me. I never, EVER, saw a flick of this quality coming. The Wachowski's have done it again, and done it well.
I give this movie one of my strongest possible recommendations for seeing in theaters, in IMAX if possible. Its worth the ticket price, and I can guarantee that I will be seeing it at least once more.

| | This is one where a ton of people are going to disagree with you. Everything I've heard and read says exactly the opposite of what you just wrote. Btw, check Rotten Tomatos. This was particularly choice:

| | I really don't care. The people who are rating it poorly have no attraction to the source material or simply aren't appreciating what is brought to the table in that movie. Using Rotten Tomatoes as an example here, you've basically got your mainstream reviewers pissing on the flick because of what it is, some highly animated flick that is obviously meant to attract kids. I went in knowing this and as I've said everywhere, I was fucking blown away at the quality of the film. The storytelling was strong, the visuals were the most brilliant thing I have ever seen on screen, and I felt myself like a kid again watching the movie. |

| | Also if you look at the community meter for Speed Racer, you'll notice that the score is over double what the reviewers are giving it. That'll only grow after word gets out about this movie. :P |

| | The TankSpot-meter is only 50% since Canadian disagrees with you. |

| | I saw it (the trailer) and didn't liked it, i was a fan of the series (though they usually repeated the same season over and over again over here lol) and the movie trailer didn't made me wanna run to the cinema and watch it... The colors i saw on the trailer seemed to much, like they were trying to hard. Maybe i'll see it when it comes out in dvd, but for now, i'll stick with Ironman and maybe Speed racer on a far second... |
