Hulk, SMASH

I've been a bit quiet recently. Not much on the WoW side to talk about, there's also been a bit of a lul in the biz news that felt worth writing over. I blame Ciderhelm for the lack of attention my last blog entry received... whether or not he is responsible, I'm sure he is.

Starting this off by showing the new Hulk trailer 2. You won't be too disappointed. Its interesting to note that original notes about the movie's script suggested that it was a "Batman Begins" like redo of the franchise. More recent information is suggesting they are indeed picking up from the last movie's story, but restyling the series nonetheless.

The only significant downside I see to that is forcing people to watch the first Hulk movie.

So this is going to be a bit of a image-heavy blog post, which isn't bad at all. I don't remember if I mentioned this in the past but there is a third Mummy flick coming out this summer. Why this is worth mentioning is because... well... the first Mummy was pretty good, the second was annoying with the kid, but otherwise a decent sequel... and the third has nothing to do with the first two. Not only does it have nothing to do with the first two, but Brenden Fraser is the only returning actor from the first two. Anyways, here's the new teaser poster for it.

Moar movie posters again, this time for The Dark Knight.

There's a individual poster for each of those three images combined, which should make the people who bought the "Why So Serious" Heath Ledger poster for seriously inflated prices after Ledger's death on eBay (up to $450 originally for the poster). Anyways, that new poster features all three of the main stars of the new flick, including Harvey Dent, who we haven't seen much of yet. One last new poster below with some Bat-Cycle action.

Paramount, the last big studio to be holding back on any Blu-Ray announcement has finally caved with their plans. On May 20th you can expect their first offerings of There Will Be Blood, Cloverfield, Bee Movie, Face/Off and Next to start filtering in. I'd like to see Indiana Jones come out on Blu-ray, but if they hold back and wait for the new one to be released before doing so I can live with that too.

Casting is just starting for Transformers 2. Shia will be returning, but there's already news out that Jonah Hill of Superbad, Knocked Up, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall fame will be co-starring alongside the young star who's next flick in Indy 4.

Ironman comes out this week... tomorrow, in fact. That hasn't stopped Marvel from already starting pre-production and contract talks on a full trilogy though. They just need to start filming all these movies LOTR style. >_>

I love movies. ^_^ I absolutely love the whole cinema experience. Toronto has some amazing theaters. The main theater I go to has an IMAX in it. I totally saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in there on opening night. It was worth the inflated $18 ticket price.

At any rate, I am totally pumped for the summer blockbusters to kick off. I had totally forgotten about the 3rd Mummy sequel. Don't know how I feel about it. I'm a huge fan of the series and Jet Li. I've probably watched the first two at least a dozen times each (I watch DVD's at work), but the film won't have the same appeal without Rachel Weisz or her brother. I can deal without having Imhotep, I think they've done that story enough.

Regardless of how good it is, I'm pretty sure Batman, Hellboy II, and especially Indy 4 will more than make up for it.

I'm waiting for Ironman and Speed Racer to come out, mostly just because of the childhood nostalgia associated with both.

Wait, who gave Velhym a blog on Tankspot? Should I blame Sledge or Cider?

I enjoy movies too but my biggest issue is always lining up a babysitter for the little ones so the wife and I can go.

My 6 year old daughter loves the Indiana Jones movies, though. I wouldn't terrorize a theater by bringing her little sister, but I think she'd really enjoy it.

Ironman is intriguing. I honestly can't stand Robert Downey Jr. but he can act and most people seem to think he will perform well as Ironman.

I fail..I haven't even seen the first movie with Bale as Batman. I remember the old school ones with Michael Keaton(or Val Kilmer, lol) Might be a good weekend to rent it.

I liked the Mummy movies. They were cheap butdecent knock off of Indiana Jones and entertaining. I generally can only run down a sitter for once a month so I'd prolly wait and watch it on DvD.

Oh, hey, I lost my train of thought there. Thanks for pointing out my terrible proof-reading, Cider. :P

Anyways, that was supposed to be "should make them pretty annoyed".

I have a movie club at work with some of the girls. I remember seeing our first movie together...not my pick, it was 'Good Luck Chuck,' a borderline pornographic flick. I did not know the woman I went with all that well...what a bonding experience that was lemme tell ya.

Enh, nudity becomes overrated after you've seen 1,000s butts, groins and boobs.

One of my picks was '30 Days of Night,' that was a bonding experience too. I mean nurses have strong stomachs and all, but even for them it was pretty graphic.

'American Gangster' was one of our recent favorites.

Since I bought a new house 2 days ago we will move the 'movie club' to an in-house theme so we can have a themed dinner and get wasted if we wish...kinda hard to sneak a 6-pack into the theater. I'll probably be the first to host, not sure what I'm gonna do yet, was thinking 'Big Trouble in Little China,' and making some mean sesame chicken.

One of the girls wants to go see 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall,' the same guys who did '40 Year Old Virgin.' I guess one of the other nurses at work recommended it, but she also said she felt is was borderline X-rated...hrm.
