I think I might leave me guild and try to find one more suited to what I want out of the game.
I'm not a very hardcore player, but I do expect people to do certain things if they want to succeed past Naxx. I want people to have food buffs and flasks for hard or untried content. I want them to be on time, and if they've signed up for the raid, dedicate the time required to that raid, and not just skip out on it. I also want people to have the gold required for repairs in progression raids. I don't like raids being called because people "don't have gold to repair, lol". I would also like people to not bitch and moan when we wipe on a boss we've never done before. It's new content, it's going to be hard, deal with it already. I also hate hate HATE when people don't know the strategy for the boss we're going to be fighting. It only takes about 7 minutes or so of watching a video on Tankspot for them to get a much better explanation than my 15 minute text version which must encompass every gimmick because no one has read up on the fight.
I just don't think the guild I'm in cuts it where those points are concerned. As I said, I'm not a hardcore player, but my guild just seems way too casual for me. I also would like to do some 25-mans, and my guild just can't raise the requisite numbers for it. Every attempt does not go well, with not enough sign-ups to fill the raid, and people signed up who don't show. We have no filtering process for recruitment, at all. If someone wants an invite, they get one, at least that's how it seems to work. We have a forum, which is never updated with anything and which no one ever uses. Just one forum with an application template would be nice, and would go a long way towards filtering out the slavering unwashed masses, most of whom can't even type coherently.
The raid schedule is also a tad annoying. There's a regular Wednesday Naxx 10 run, but apart from that, I'm never sure when raids are on, and they seem to go on night after night, which is not great, I like to pretend to have a social life, and some regular raid days that don't go overboard would be awfully nice. I just need something more organised, it's so messy the way it is.
I shouldn't have protested about things though, because they made me an officer in the guild, which I don't particularly like. I feel like it's just another chain tethering me to this guild which just isn't going anywhere. I like a good few of the guys in it, but overall it's just too sloppy for me. I'm the only one apart from an alt of someone else with high level cooking.
I think the time has come to scope out some other guilds, it's a pity that most guilds that do 25 mans also require 25 man experience, which is hard to get without being in the guild, a catch 22 as it were.(Or catch 25...man? Lol, ol, ol, ol)
I'll feel bad about leaving, but I better once I raid in a more orderly enviornment.
In other news, I've started reading David Eddings' books again, and I'm really lovng them. They're the ones that got me into fantasy books and they kick some serious ass. I've started where I started years ago, with the Belgariad, if any of you that might happen to read this are fans of the fantasy genre, definitly pick up this series and it's follow-up, the Mallorean, they're both quality series'. His other books are also great, so go read them too!
I never noticed before how much more tiring it is to run outside than it is on a treadmill. Before, on a treadmill I could manage my runs without too much bother, but doing it outside has made it very tiring, and it also made my muscles ache the next day, and the day after, preventing me from running more. Im sort of wondering whether I should continue to run outside, as it's more effort and therefore will do me more good, or run on the treadmill. Perhaps start on the treadmill and transition to outside? Even though outside is harder, it probably ends up being less good, because it prevents me from running the next day, or maybe I'll get used to it? Who knows!
I seem very mellow right now, it seems odd.
I sometimes wonder am I the only one who dosn't like nightclubs? I like the pub a lot more, but my friends seem to love nightclubs, with their busy bars and sticky floors. I've had a few good nights there, but I much prefer pubs to them, maybe because I like to talk to my friends(crazyness I know), and nightclubs aren't great for that, not that I don't love shouting to be heard. Oh well, maybe I'll grow to like them?

Nightclubs suck.
Also, sounds like your in a guild which doesnt fit for you. If you feel like you would be happier somewhere else leaving is the best idea.Posted 07-10-2009 at 12:09 PM by Gordonoth

Vash, regarding the treadmill, I think your problem stems from gait. Assuming that you've been properly fitted for a pair of running shoes, you'll tend to lean forward a little more on a treadmill and your stride will be shorter. Outside you can stretch out more, but this increases the impact when you're running and you might even find that you run a little faster because you don't feel like you're about to faceplant then get eaten by the running machine.
Start out on grass and start slowly. Treadmills are low-impact and easy on the knees so don't throw yourself onto the pavement just yet. I road-run now but you definitely need some miles clocked on grass and a good pair of stability shoes before you venture onto asphalt. I've been running since March and it just keeps getting more fun. Good luck!Posted 07-10-2009 at 04:04 PM by Jalousie

When I read about your pain from running the day after, I can't help but think of a quote: "For the first time in my life, I found myself flat on my back. But I got up, and pushed through the pain... because that is what champions do."
You may never find yourself a "champion" runner, but the mentality is the same.
My wrestling team used to say "Pain is temporary, Pride is forever"... If you're sore two days after running outside, push that much harder. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Ok, I'm out of platitudes, so just click the link and be moved... No pun intended...
