Settling In...

I joined a new guild about a month ago. Things have been going really great. I came from from a more hardcore raiding guild. Due to work shifts being in the evening I was unable to raid at the same time as expected.
I raided possibly three nights a week clearing Naxx25 in a night of easy raiding. The vast majority of people in the "main raid" had all the gear they could ever need and were gearing up alts and offspecs for alts. I had my fury and prot sets more or less best in slot. Working on my Enhance Shammy which happen to be rare these days. I dinged 80 and got rotated into Naxx25 the day after I dinged. Got a bunch of gear my DKP actually went to the negative. Now I got hired working for about 4 hours a day after classes. Got home around 7 EST. Raids started at 8 EST so things worked out perfectly.
Now about a month after joing this Hardcore Guild we have a series of people quit. Now my boss instead of looking for more workers. Just shuffles around the working times. I get 7 EST till 11 EST Tues-Fri. Frutrated at my predicament but I'm well geared on my main and decent on my shaman. Now I love the atmoshere of this guild. Its a group of people that are fathers, wives, etc. We spend minimal time raiding but progress pretty easily because of a laid back attitude. We'd never be the #1 on the server buts thats fine.
I talk to my GM and I let him know whats going on. I agree to help when I can. Sat and Mon Naxx10 runs with alts and people gearing up to join the Main Raid. This goes fine for about two more weeks. Now a friend of mine I've known ingame for about two years now lets me know his guild raids Sat/Sun Naxx25. Now they are a more casual guild and thats fine in my books. I say my goodbyes to the Hardcore Guild sadly. Hello to my new casual guild.
Casual really isn't the right word describing these people haha. My first week we get to Saph in two nights. Guild first I'm impressed with the way they handled themselves. We head back in the next week and full clear it in two nights. We repeat this for about three weeks. Having a great time with this new guild.
Now I'm in a dilema again. My friend that suggested I join the guild recently got into an argument with a raid leader. He gquit shortly afterwords. He made some racial slur on vent and offended someone. I've known him for a longtime and he mostly jokes around. But he quit and now I'm looked upon badly. I've been premoted to class offer. My friend hasn't asked my to leave. But I get the impression its what he wants me to do. I really don't want to leave just after the success started. I've liked being a main part of a successful guild again.
Anyways this guild drama is starting to wear me out. Think if this guild doesn't work out I'll remain guildless for the time being.

One, I have low tolerence for people that prejudicially discriminate. I'd probably be gone too.
Two, your friend really is a good friend if he's not trying to drive a wedge into things. That's a very respectful thing to do. However, that doesn't prevent you from contacting your buddy and see if he's found something.
In addition, as long as it's done properly, there's nothing against shopping around while you are where you're at. Find something that raids at your speed, is amiable enough for your standards, and perhaps can bring your friend in too.
Three, if you don't feel right where you are, any victory you have will be hollow. That isn't a suggestion to leave, just a statement of personal experience. If you don't feel that way, then by all means...Posted 04-01-2009 at 10:03 AM by Conreeaght
