Greener pastures indeed!

So my account is almost fully restored, the only sticking point is that my hacker bought a enhancement shaman totem with some of my badges, but that will get resolved.
Our decision to move on to Mt Hyjal and skip Vashj and Kael proved fortuitous indeed. Within two weeks of zoning in, we are now 4/5 MH.
Archimonde will be as big of a block as Vashj/Kael, but the MH experienced has helped re-invigorate the guild and morale.
The guild also took it's first tentative steps in Black Temple a few days ago, I was not present, but Naj'entus was killed and I believe we can easily get 3/9 or 4/9 in a week or two.
Had a long talk with a fellow guild tank last night. Most of the talk was on wasted potential and the stupidity of dps'ers. There are issues of raiders making the same mistake (pulling aggro off tanks, DOT's on sheeped mobs...) over and over again, and frankly, most of the tanks are getting sick of it. Since I'm the biggest asshole of the tanks, I'll bring it up to the guild officers and see if we can get some corrections handed out. That, and the other bone of contention was raid preparation. The tanks spend time before fights reading/watching strats on trash and bosses, we all have alts on which to farm for consumables, etc etc etc. The damage dealers...well, who knows what the hell they do before fights, some are great, and others are...
I'm sure these are not issues that are unique to my guild and that many others here have experience here. Any suggestions or ideas?

| | There are mods out there that will announce when a sheep is broken and by whom....Recount records CC breaks but doesn't differentiate between accidental (IE, screw ups) and intentional (ok, we are killing orange circle now) Threat with DPS is a little more tricky. Its most often a case of timing and a solid tank, given a target can lock it down. But knowing not to just wail on that sheep as the tank breaks it, staying focus fire, knowing when WW or Blade Flurry are not a good idea, etc. are a little tougher to put a finger on and requires DPS to pay attention to detail and nuance. Biggest thing is to have a good leader for the DPS to monitor these things and work with you to get them straight. Its hard to micro manage everything from the tank spot and it helps to have help....someone you can go to and say "hey, why are we getting CC breaks and rogues raping targets before I can touch them? Fix it." |

| | BigBrother is pretty nice for annoucing CC breaks. You can either announce it to the raid, or just have a warning for yourself. It can get spammy, but can also be good if you're trying to get the DPS to pay attention to what they're doing. Has the added bonus of monitoring buffs and consumables raid wide so you can see who's missing what, and who's slacking on consumables. |

| | i will second BigBrother. our sheep breaking has gone down significantly since we started running it. when it does happen now there is almost always an immediate apology. |
