Gear I still need from pre-BC, and why:
[item]Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker[/item] (MC) - Multi-target threat. Most 5-man fights, and many offtanking situations in raids
[item]Styleen's Impeding Scarab[/item] (BWL) - best blocking trinket in the game. The only item to get on this list because its pure stats exceed anything in TBC
[item]Loatheb's Reflection[/item] (Naxx) - Multi-resist fights. Shade of Aran (not so much an issue), Hydross adds.
[item]Glyph of Deflection[/item] (Naxx) - Increased threat, and mitigation on moderate hitters
[item]Fortitude of the Scourge[/item] (Naxx) - To enchant whatever dedicated EH shoulders I have
[item]Petrified Scarab[/item] (AQ40) - Resist fights in general. I need to do some research into whether or not it'd be particularly useful on elemental-damage fights, since that probably doesn't count as 'spells'. One example that comes to mind is add-duty on Hydross, where the offtanks will likely not have anywhere near the cap for nature and frost resistance, and this would allow them to stack more stam, or maybe even avoidance.
[item]The Burrower's Shell[/item] (AQ40) - It probably has a use somewhere. A shield every once in a while would make healing an avoidance tank that little bit more consistent.
So that's it. Lots of resistance stuff, which there doesn't seem to be any of in TBC.
Lots of Naxx and AQ40, too. A lot of the fights in question are puggable to an extent. However, I don't imagine getting, for example, the two Sapphiron pieces I need without a very organized raid.
In the meanwhile, I guess I'll keep farming for the my Bindings and trying to pug BWL for my Scarab
