Nice boots.
TankingTips.com has it right. [item]Jungle Stompers[/item] are nicer than [item]Red Havoc Boots[/item]. But then again, I'm partial to whatever I'm equipping. Aren't we all? I watched someone convince themselves today that [item]Bulwark of Kings[/item] is hands down all situations better than [item]Panzar'thar Breastplate[/item]. Well, ok kinda, but not all situations. I know I put crit gems in my BOK when Panzar'Thar finally dropped.
Tho, I do miss the extra armor. I haven't dropped armor smithing, though I tell myself it's so I can craft Hydross gear, it's probably just so I can still equip BOK and even consider it as a raiding piece if our progression gets past my EH.
So the game, or whatever it was, kept us out of SSC last night. Better luck tomorrow; traditionally after Gruul's dead we'll head over to coilfang. Fingers crossed thinking of my [item]Mallet of the Tides[/item]. Executioner or Mongoose? Mongoose is a bit more all purpose, and the Mallet is a better avoidance weapon than [item]King's Defender[/item] imo. But crap, another 180 armor gone.
As for the debate? Not sure what a nice guild is, or that I'd want to be in one. But I don't think a guild should be negative, insulting, non-constructive. I think I would have dropped the game by now if our guild was like that. A little bit of professionalism and discipline goes a long way.
I do think a 3 raids/week guild that doesn't do DKP, doesn't force specs, doesn't loot whore, and doesn't treat people like crap can progress, and do so enjoying one another's company. Though I will totally admit I have no clue what a "cutting edge" guild even looks like, much less what it has to be or can't be like.
I'm pretty sure it takes a lot of stick-to-it-ness, discipline, and a good core group of people with enough skill and enough great attitude to make a "family raiding" guild work; but I think it's worth it.
