Taking a break from raiding

Posted 04-07-2008 at 05:25 PM by Thist
Decided to take a break from raiding. I feel sort of mixed about it.

It's very good for my job - they let me come in early to leave early but it still doesn't look good that I leave before other people. My job has also become more important now that I am sponsoring a green card for my spouse.

It's not going to up the "quality time" or anything with my spouse since we'll probably still play as much wow, it just won't be raiding. We may do more random going-out type things I guess, but we're just not very social people in general.

I have also been getting more short-tempered and frustrated in raids lately - maybe partially because of guilt about leaving my job early, but also somewhat because I wake up early to raid, prepare properly etc, and it really annoys me when some unprepared idiot who was late stands in the fire then goes "lol, I was talking to my gf". It's like so many of them just don't care.

I feel bad for my guild, but have given them 2 weeks notice during which I won't take any loot. I think it's more fair than just arriving late and/or not being properly prepared and frustrated. I like to do things properly or not at all.

I think the break will do me good.

I was fourth in dkp standing, second in dkp earned. My attendance:
Lifetime (08/16/07 - 04/01/08): 100% of raids
