What I Learned from BFFB

First off, a definition. BFFB stands for Blood Furnace First Boss, but it's also something of an interesting experiment in instancing style, and part of Qadash's gearing up process. It started of as this particular ret pally asking people if they wanted to do Blood Furnace. But who really wants to do Blood Furnace? The event before the second boss is terrible, and nobody really wants to do it if they don't have to. All he needed, though, was the [item]Libram of Avengement[/item] from the first boss....

The Pace Makes the Raid

Tonight, the Mageroyal Syndicate did some Karazhan, and we rocked it all the way to Shade of Aran. Not bad for about 2.5 hours.

  • Attumen - one shot
  • Moroes - one shot
  • Maiden - one shot
  • Romulo and Julianne - one shot
  • Curator - one shot
  • Illhoof - one shot
  • Shade of Aran - one shot
Now, having two warrior tanks, instead of our usual combination of warrior and pally, made the AoE groups a pain. Mostly for the warlocks, Darzen and Jurus. And the mage, Zoonzonzil. They died a few...

Balls to the Wall: No CC, no boundaries

Last night was the best one-third of heroic Blood Furnace that I've ever run. Why only one third? Because our guild's only ret pally, and a good RL friend of mine, needed a new libram, and the best one he can get drops off of the first boss in BF - but on heroic only. The group was as follows:

  • Me - the prot warrior
  • Qadash - everybody's favorite ret pally
  • Zigystardust - Shaman extraordinaire (currently enhancement)
  • Maevie - Doctorate in 1337 healz
  • Tryni - Stone-cold sexy enhancement

Two Jobs, Many Mobs

So, after a Heroic BF run with some guildies last night, it seems I'm a little rusty on my multi-tanking. Our healer died many times (sorry Zarindora).

By the end I had gotten some of my multi-tanking effectiveness back, but I think I still need some more practice. I'm not sure what I'm practicing for, as we usually have a prot pally going in to any raid, and they tank the trash. But I feel that in the interest of being a well-developed tank, I should get some more practice on tanking...

Veneretio is Right, and new old gear

I just finished a pretty quick Heroic Mech run, during which we only wiped once (due to an ill-timed sleep on yours truly). It had been a while since I'd actually tanked anything, due to the fact that I've been working evenings. Apparently the game wants me to continue to neglect sleep, because my Sun Eater dropped. I'm not terribly sure I'll use it (much), because I currently have Quickening Blade of the Prince. I don't currently have a distinct survival set and threat set, but this may be the...
