"How can you be a protection warrior at level one?" I hear you all asking. It's a matter of heart. Of drive. Of the mentality of a protection warrior.

Leveling from 1-70 while protection specced was a pain, but it allowed me to practice my tanking skills on the way to 70. I tanked everything from VC to Gnomer to BRD, on up through all of the Burning Crusade instances as I leveled through them. And now I find myself the warrior tank in my small guild of friends who is the best geared, and is one of the go-to guys when we do our ZA attempts.

Being prot at heart has its advantages.

My First One-Night Kara Clear

And I'm pretty sure it's also a guild-first. (Zigy can probably correct me if I'm wrong).

In terms of tanking, we had our usualy combination of Warrior (me) and pally. He tanked trash, I tanked bosses (with the obvious shared duty of a few of the bosses - Netherspite, Moroes, Attumen, and Wizard of Oz). Oh, and the pally tanked Nightbane... the better to pick up skeleton adds with.

For healing, we had a druid and a priest for most of it, adding in a pally after we wiped...

This Week's ZA Post-Mortem

This week was a ZA week for my guild. We usually raid once or twice a week, either Kara or ZA. Since I don't really have much I need from Kara - save for the ever-present badges - I was really excited. I logged on, I bought myself some more healing pots and flew on up to Ghostlands. On the flight, we were determining who would have to roll for spots, and who wouldn't. Oddly, we had exactly the right amount of DPS classes, too many tanks, and too many healers. Being a casual guild, we usually have...

The Twin Blades of Bigger Raids

My guild is a pretty small guild, relatively. We do 10-man raids, and we do 5-mans, but that's about it in terms of actual game content. We try to organize ourselves for two nights every week, with no requirements whatsoever. If we can't get a raid together, then people do dailies, get 5-mans together, or do real life things. Some of our members are fairly creative and come up with what have been termed "Mageroyal Spectacular" events. These have included streaking across Azeroth, Steamtonk...

New content for me?

There have been rumblings in my not-quite-25-member guild about starting 25 man runs with a couple PuGgers. Probably Mag's and Gruul's, as those are the most accessible to all the raiding members of the guild. Getting a chance to get some more T4 gear would be great, though I probably outgear it at this point.

Really, my excitement comes from the possibility of seeing new content, and doing new fights. I really hope we can get all 23 raiding members of the guild together to attempt...
