My First One-Night Kara Clear

And I'm pretty sure it's also a guild-first. (Zigy can probably correct me if I'm wrong).

In terms of tanking, we had our usualy combination of Warrior (me) and pally. He tanked trash, I tanked bosses (with the obvious shared duty of a few of the bosses - Netherspite, Moroes, Attumen, and Wizard of Oz). Oh, and the pally tanked Nightbane... the better to pick up skeleton adds with.

For healing, we had a druid and a priest for most of it, adding in a pally after we wiped a few times on Nightbane.

The DPSers we had were our top hunter (McClintock), a very well geared mage, our guild-leader's main toon (a warlock), another warlock, a rogue, and an undergeared enhancement shaman. The rogue traded out for his pally on Nightbane.

So, it was a pretty solid group. We were able to support the shaman, and the shaman gave us windfury. Which, I think, was a fair trade. We one-shotted all the bosses except for Nightbane, where we had aggro issues. The 'locks kept pulling aggro, and I discovered that without blessing of salvation, I have to hold back on my DPS quite a bit. Not surprising, since I'm using things like Devastate and Heroic Strike for DPS.

I picked up [item]Barbed Choker of Discipline[/item] for an avoidance set. It would have been DE'd otherwise. It's interesting. Simply equipping that instead of [item]Brooch of Deftness[/item] and [item]The Sun Eater[/item] instead of [item]Quickening Blade of the Prince[/item] gives me 5-6% more total avoidance. But less stam, so I'm not sure what to think about that. Also, if I'm going to use the Sun Eater for an avoidance set, I should probably get Mongoose on it.

Congrats! Clearing Kara in 1 night is a big step for a guild. It's definitely where you'll need each of your guild's Kara runs to be in order to progress easily into 25 man content.

Approximately, how long did the run take?

Thanks, Edge! I'm glad you enjoy it, and I'll do my best to keep them coming. I was away for the weekend, but I'm back now!

Vene, thanks! I always like to hear from you, as your blog has probably been where the better part of my tanking info has come from (you and elitistjerks, that is). The run took around 3.5 to 4 hours, with a couple breaks in there. I think we could have done it quicker, but we didn't quite have the pace that I set on our Monday run.
