Stupid Murmur
I've determined that I cannot get Heroic Murmur down. This has been my experience (your mileage may vary).
Back before I was totally epic'd, I ran Heroic SLab with a PuG. I tanked the whole thing just fine, but we couldn't down Murmur. I was kicked out of the group, and when I inquired as to why, the leader told me something along the lines of "You don't have enough health. You know how to tank, for sure, but get some better gear". Okay. That's a compliment, I guess. But it doesn't get me a Murmur kill. It did, however, further motivate me to get better gear.
So, I did.
Then, last week, a prot-pally guildie of mine asked if I wanted to do Heroic SLab. I replied with "Ummm... do you want me to pretend to DPS?" To which he said "You can pretend better than I can." So, I did. I DPS'd most of it, except where we lacked CC, when I off-tanked. It was interesting. The actual DPS toons kicked the crap out of me on the meters, but I held my own.
Then we get to Murmur. We try him twice with the pally tanking. No luck. Our under-geared Druid healer keeps dying on the sonic boom (I don't think he was actually watching for it.) The pally suggests that I try tanking Murmur, while he assists in the healing. Sure. That could work. Into the tanking gear I go. But 15k HP doesn't help if your healers can't stay alive. We wipe three or four more times, and then I give up. It sucks, but whatever.
So, it seems as though Murmur is my nemesis. Freaking Heroic Murmur. Not Prince, not Halazzi. No. MURMUR.

| | Trust me you're not alone. A lot of it just depends on his timing and the groups. I only do H SLab when I have to. And thankfully that daily doesn't come up too often. |

| | Healer should not be dying, no? Are they not far enough away? |

| | As I understand it, everybody who's not inside the circle will get AoE'd (on Heroic at least). So, everybody has to be inside the circle until the Sonic Boom. Then everybody has to get out, and then quickly back in. It's annoying, to say the least. |

| | How much HP did you have the first time? I highly doubt you were undergeared in the first place and instead the healer was making excuses for being bad or the DPS couldn't tell that the healer was bad. Heroic Murmur doesn't hit much harder than normal IIRC. And yes, bad players make heroic Murmur suck ![]() |

| | My experience is that everyone is on the circle and on a decent range from each other. Then it's pretty much a race. If you can do decent amounts of dps you should be taking him down before anyone dies... ... The results tend to vary though... |

| | The hp do not matter (unless you're sitting at 10k hp of course) on Murmur since his AoE hits for a percentage (~80% ?), and he hits like a girl anyways, and very slowly. I've never had problems on him (even before I was wearing T6 and T5 ), and I've never ran out of the sonic boom either .But unfortunately sometimes it doesn't depend just on you ... I hate PuGs. |

| | 2 manned Murmur once on heroic mode after the others got killed by sonic boom, just me(resto shaman) and prot pala. Pala kept judgement of wisdom up, i kept mana spring totem up, hit Murmur and gave the tank the occasional heal. Ran out when sonic boom was being cast and ran back in when cast was done. |

| | When I killed Murmur for the quest, me, a holy pally, and a surv hunter soloed him for the last 38% of his health (note: he starts at 40%). You just gotta pay super close attention to the cast bar for sonic boom and GTFO. |

| | A nice trick to Murmur is that he can't aggro casters because he's a stationary npc. So you only have to worry about your threat vs melee. Another fun trick is that Sonic Boom is a Max HP % based attack so if you really want you can make your healer hate you and just cap you off as soon as you get kersploded for 90%. |
