"How can you be a protection warrior at level one?" I hear you all asking. It's a matter of heart. Of drive. Of the mentality of a protection warrior.
Leveling from 1-70 while protection specced was a pain, but it allowed me to practice my tanking skills on the way to 70. I tanked everything from VC to Gnomer to BRD, on up through all of the Burning Crusade instances as I leveled through them. And now I find myself the warrior tank in my small guild of friends who is the best geared, and is one of the go-to guys when we do our ZA attempts.
Being prot at heart has its advantages.

Loading Screen Tips

I'm not sure anybody noticed, but there's a new loading screen tip that is relevant to tanking:
I wonder if this will help people understand Threat vs. Aggro, or just threat in general. At the very least, it should help the terminology situation. A lot of people use Threat and Aggro interchangeably, and this tip might help change things.
At least, if anybody besides me pays attention to loading screen tips.
Quote:
Dealing damage, healing, or casting spells can generate Threat against a creature. Most creatures will attack the player with the highest Threat against them.

I like loading screen tips. I think they're extremely useful to new players and others alike. I have seen many players who simply don't know little shortcuts such as hitting Tab when whispering, etc.
The good thing about these new tips (or at least this one if there aren't any others) is that they appear to be more useful to the game, rather than utilitarian in nature. So while both are nice, we need to focus more on the mechanical side of things than the "Oh, I only need to click this to do all of that?" side.Posted 02-10-2009 at 09:06 AM by Arideni

They should add:
Using keybindings is significantly faster than clicking on abillities with the mouse.Posted 02-10-2009 at 10:04 AM by Nicki

They taught me that I can eat and drink at the same time.
Which at the point I learned it was irrelevant because I was playing a warrior, I think.
This was after I played ~4 months.Posted 02-10-2009 at 04:30 PM by Edgar
