"How can you be a protection warrior at level one?" I hear you all asking. It's a matter of heart. Of drive. Of the mentality of a protection warrior.
Leveling from 1-70 while protection specced was a pain, but it allowed me to practice my tanking skills on the way to 70. I tanked everything from VC to Gnomer to BRD, on up through all of the Burning Crusade instances as I leveled through them. And now I find myself the warrior tank in my small guild of friends who is the best geared, and is one of the go-to guys when we do our ZA attempts.
Being prot at heart has its advantages.

Alas, Poor Macros...
As we all know, nobody stance-dances anymore. It's gone out of style. Out of vogue. It's sooooo last year. While this makes life easier, it also reduces the number of macros that I use, which makes me a little sad, as I love macros.
There are two macros that I currently use, I'm going to be adding one more, and I should be adding two more at some point. That's a total of five, where I had much more than that pre-3.0.
The macros I still use from my previous post (linked above) are the panic button macro - which uses Last Stand, Shield Wall, and my trinkets - and a new macro:
When I got Heroic Throw at level 80, I happily replaced Shoot on my action bar, went out to test it out, and realized there was a lengthy cooldown to deal with. But I was out of spaces on my action bar. The above macro combined the two spaces. If Heroic Throw is off of cooldown, then I use Heroic Throw. Otherwise, I shoot my gun. Easy as pie.
The other macro that I will be adding soon is a variation on the previous Healthstone/Healing Potion macro. Since you can only have one Healthstone at a time, though, I think it will go something like this:

So you have two, you're going to add one, and then another two after that? And that adds up to four?Posted 01-02-2009 at 10:14 AM by Theomach

I've made 2 stancedance macros so I could access recklessness and retaliation while tanking.Posted 01-02-2009 at 10:27 AM by Shadevarr

hehe... it's not that I'm bad at math, it's that I remembered another macro later. Bad editing on my part.
And Shadevarr, the link to Vene's site is a link to those macros.Posted 01-02-2009 at 11:34 AM by Thireas

Love the idea of a macro for using shoot/heroic throw. This will certainly help with space and obviously makes sense. Not to mention throw is instant which pleases me a bunch as I hate slow firing guns.Posted 01-04-2009 at 02:40 PM by Alduulf
