"How can you be a protection warrior at level one?" I hear you all asking. It's a matter of heart. Of drive. Of the mentality of a protection warrior.
Leveling from 1-70 while protection specced was a pain, but it allowed me to practice my tanking skills on the way to 70. I tanked everything from VC to Gnomer to BRD, on up through all of the Burning Crusade instances as I leveled through them. And now I find myself the warrior tank in my small guild of friends who is the best geared, and is one of the go-to guys when we do our ZA attempts.
Being prot at heart has its advantages.

My guild cleared ZA last night, for the first time. I haven't had any word as to how long it took, or any loot that dropped, but we now have the screen shots in our ZA Mortuary thread on our forums.
Yeah, I was off having real-life fun at a concert. It kinda sucks that I wasn't there for the kills, but hey... I got to see one of my favorite bands for only $5.00
I can only hope that this doesn't kill all the enthusiasm for ZA, as I'd like another shot at Malacrass and a first shot at Zul'jin.

I'm sure that people will want to continue to farm ZA until the xpac in order to fill out their toons and make the initial leveling process easier.

- I've cleared ZA for the first time yesterday as well... and I sure as hell won't be coming back for more, regardless of loot.
I raid in a very casual community of roleplayers, no fixed schedule, easy-going on consumables, and all that. We'd made our way to Zul'jin once before 3.0 (and wiped as late as Phase 5 in some attempts) , but usually we got stopped short by either Jan'alai (WTB prot pally) or Malacrass (WTB capable DPS). In those days, it was fun and challenging.
Yesterday, it was a steamrolling party, we got the fourth chest with 10 minutes to go (had never even gotten close to the third before), and went on to kill Malacrass and Zul'jin left-handedly.
Sure, it's progress... but it's not the kind of progress I like, as it had nothing at all to do with "mastering the challenge". I won't be coming back at ZJ... at least, not with 10 people. I might try with five or six, though.Posted 10-24-2008 at 11:39 AM by Khordam 
- Haha, when I saw the title, I thought someone was getting annoyed at "herb cartels" that were amassing gold like the US treasury amasses debt from the "Inscription crisis".
