I'm a Terrible Tank
... because I haven't been tanking. Altaholism has taken hold, and I've been playing my Shaman, Iaria almost exclusively. In fact, the only times I've logged into Thireas in the past week were to do dailies (starting the fund for Iaria's epic mount), and to farm Scarlet Monastery for [item]Scarlet Chestpiece[/item].
Otherwise, I've been leveling the shammy and doing battlegrounds to get some nice mail gear. And the WSG epic leather bracers, because they're better than the mail ones. Ever since she hit level 30, I've been ripping through content, due to Windfury Weapon. It's seriously just amazing, and I can't wait to dual-wield with it. I've also looked at some level 70 healing gear, planning out what I want to go for once I get there. I've actually provided the list to Zigystardust over at Totems and a Shield, who will likely be putting up a gearing guide for newly 70 resto shammies.
Enough about my up-and-coming healer, though.
I still have only 91 one of the 100 badges I need for my [item]Sunguard Legplates[/item]. I haven't raided as my warrior since we last did ZA. I should probably do some instancing before our next Gruul run next Monday (th 18th), just so I'm not too rusty. I've been thinking about a respec, just to get away from Improved Shield Bash. Yeah, I have that talent. I might also drop Improved Defensive Stance, and put those points into Cruelty (that'll be 5/5 Cruelty, with the points from Imp Shield Bash). Any thoughts on Imp Def. Stance? Is the 6% (multiplicative) spell damage reduction worth the three talent points?
An aside...

I've been watching olympic soccer/football. The first matches of the games were kinda slow. The teams were cautious (with the exception of Argentina and Cote d'Ivoire... they were awesome). It looks like the second round of games are going to be more exciting. The USA mens team currently has a win and a draw, the draw being a terrible story where they gave up the tying goal in the 93rd minute on a free kick that should never have happened. Less than one minute left. They need a win against Nigeria in their next match, and it will be more difficult because two of their best players got two yellow cards, and thus will not be playing that game. Arg.

| | The legs are awesome. Get those 9 badges already! As for Imp Def Stance's usefulness, it really depends on what you spend most of your time doing. Obviously, it's useless on Gruul, and Mag is the same case. I doubt you have much trouble with anything in Kara at this point, and I haven't founf myself wishing for it in ZA. Granted, we haven't tried Malacrass yet, so maybe it would be helpful there. But Cruelty, on the other hand, is fantastic, and you'll wonder how you got along without it. Imp Shield Bash isn't horrid. At least it's not Imp Revenge. I'm having precisely the opposite problem as you; I too am trying to level a shammy healer. She's a ton of fun, but I just can't make the time for her when there's so much cool stuff to do on my warrior. |

| | Yeah, unless we're doing ZA, Gruul's, or Mags, I don't really have much interest in my warrior at this point. I'm not burned out - I'd love to tank more of these instances. They just don't happen all that often. And my shammy is new and shiny and kicking butt. |

| | There's a pretty lengthy discussion on Imp Defensive Stance in this thread: http://www.tankspot.com/forums/theor...egativity.html |

| | Imp Def stance honestly depends on the content you're doing. Personally, I hate it. It's a dumb talent. But since I spend the majority of my time in SSC/TK, it helps towards making me easier to heal. But the moment I get out of those places, bye bye imp def stance, hello again cheaper sunder armors. |
