WoW Since Gruul

Well, I haven't tanked anything since Gruul. And, you know, that's okay with me for right now. I'm not terribly interested in Kara for the moment, and I think that's what's going down tonight (Thursdays being one of our two guild nights). If there's a ZA run in the works, I'm definitely in, though.

What I have been doing is PvP. On three different toons. This may surprise some people who've known me for a while, as I had absolutely no desire to PvP for the longest time. But for now, it's kind of fun. There's a certain... uncertainty to it that you don't get in PvE. And I'm playing three completely different classes as my different toons.

First is my warrior. I do mostly AV, and I do it in my tanking gear. I've previously been derided for wearing PvE gear in a PvP setting; "That PvE crap doesn't work in BGs", they'd say. Well, I say that health is health and armor is armor, no matter where you are. And I do decently in PvP. I've had some killing blows, but mostly I just make myself as impossible to kill as possible. I run around in defensive stance, Shield Slamming, Shield Bashing, and stance dancing to spamstring. I make a solid flag carrier in WSG and EotS, and I can tank the NPCs in AV. AB, I'm able to hold other players off of a flag for long enough for help to arrive, and that's all that really matters. Currently, I'm about 4k honor away from having my S2 helm for my DPS set.

Second is my warlock. I just started an arena team with a druid friend of mine. Neither of us have PvP gear. We didn't have a drop of resilience. Let's just say 'pwned' is putting it lightly. Especially since we started with a rating of 1500. Once we got lower, we started getting pwned less, but still... kinda brutal. I'll probably do some BGs, get my [item]Insignia of the Alliance[/item], and some S2 gear, and see what happens.

Third is my shaman, in the 20-29 bracket. She's level 28, and I'm really doing it for the gear. I stopped leveling her at level 18 or so to get gear from the 10-19 bracket, which lasted me until now. When I picked her up after the Gruul run, leveling was really annoying, due to the fact that I hadn't found anything better than the level 18 WSG gear that I had. So, now I've stopped at 28, and am PvPing for AB and WSG gear. I figure I don't have the DPS to kill anybody, so I'm healing. I respecced away from the accepted enhancement leveling build, and am currently resto. Healing is a good time, and I feel useful, even if I am undergeared. Once I get the 160 total marks that I need, I'll continue leveling in my shiny new PvP gear until 38 or so, then rinse and repeat. That's been my plan with her all along, really.

So, that's what my WoW experience has been since Gruul. I've kind of surprised myself by actually enjoying PvP. It's... odd. But it's fun, and arenas are new to me, so I'm satisfied with it.
