Some nights just click

Last night I logged on 30 minutes into raid time, unfortunately without advanced planning of an easy supper and eating without my hubby home, this is about the earliest I can log on now, but anyways, I wasn't signed and they had enough tanks signed. So, I log on and get asked to bring my mage to the reset SSC run, so I relogged and get summoned 2 platforms short of Lurker - they'd skipped hydross due to lack of res tanks. As we reach Lurker another holy priest logs on and also joins us, making a full 25. Now, it probably wasn't the ideal group I was on my mage our druid MT was on his priest, we has a couple of brand-new to SSC healers and dps as well as a tank who hadn't raided with us before although he had seen some of SSC.

If I'm completely honest I wasn't expecting miracles we've had some shocking nights lately with people not avoiding spouts, Leo is always pretty messy and we can count the number of moro and kara kills jointly on the same gnome hand!

So, Lurker gets fished out pretty quick, and even quicker two shots the cutest little gnome mage with his ranged-attack-thingy. Luckily the moonkin resses me and we continue smoothly, our dps is high and the adds fall fast, by the end we'd lost a hunter (who dc'ed) and a shammy. Which for us was awesome. Plus the warrior tank had successfully tanked lurker for the first time. The mallet dropped (again) and a fury warrior got it (both warrior tanks were already wielding it).

On to Leo, the trash was a little messy, the shield-bearers caused some of our new raiders problems, but we got through it. A minute or two into Leo and guess what - the little mage is dead - hunter pulled agro after a ww and then he went after me (who was standing next to the hunter). Same moonkin battle resses me and we continue. After 15% it gets messy, pretty sure the mt died, although he was either battle ressed fast or I was imagining things, by the end we've lost about 8-10 people but leo was a one-shot none-the-less.

On to Kara, now the last time I saw Kara was before my break from raiding and it was when we were still learning. Explanations took a while as 3/4 of the tank team had never seen Kara or been involved in tanking him. First attempt was a wipe due to losing the MT. Second and third were called early after losing the shammy tank. After a gentle reminder by me to a hunter and lock to keep up debuffs on the shammy fourth was a kill - we lost at least one holy priest and two holy pallies (both of whom were battle ressed), plus the odd dps - although the littlest mage survived!

For us three bosses in SSC in one night is an achievement, and I think the first time we've done it. We're back in on friday, hopefully with me on shorty and the mt druid on his druid for hydross (should have the right tanks) and moro - I've never seen Moro so am looking forward to that.

At the end of the night morale was high, something untangible had "clicked" - without doubt fast and efficient use of battle resses helped, but beyond that something else, despite a slightly odd group we had one of our best raiding nights for a long time - here's hoping Friday goes as well.
