Heroic MgT - Two viewpoints

So after, three runs as dps/mage through normal I finally managed to get myself into heroic Magisters Terrace .... twice.
The first run was Shorty (tank), moonkin, warlock, mage and shammy healer - mostly in t4, some t5. We four manned the first boss (mage got locked out), two-shotted the second - with an enormous gnome tanking by the end - heroism was really useful. Third one took a couple of tries, but eventually downed her and she dropped the tank trinket for me
Kael took a couple of tries too but died!
Then tonight I took my mage in with a pally healer, druid tank, warlock and enhance shammy. The bosses were smoother than the first run, the tank had been in several times, although again the third one still gave us hassles. The trash was probably slightly messier, with several squishy deaths. I got the +def cloak enchant and the warlock got our guild its first Kael mount (can't remember it's name).
All in all, I quite enjoy the place, its definitely a challenge. Neither group was particularly cc heavy but what I felt really helps is:
- A group who are prepared to stay on their feet, frost nova, fear, counterspell to help. And all should have good 3D awareness and not expect the tank to pick up everything flawlessly.

| | Nice! I'm set to go Tuesday night for heroic as a healer on my druid. I've done it a couple times on regular and frnakly, I've gotten my ass beat. Loose mobs tend to find me and beat the hell out of me. We shall see. |

| | Thanks for the insights. I've tanked and dpsed (as a rogue) the normal version several times. Having competent players is vastly more important than having exactly the right mix. With similar make ups, I've had this run take 2 hours and 15 minutes or 54 minutes. If your team knows how to think on their feet and survive when things don't go as planned this is a very fast, fun instance. I'm taking the 54 minute crew to run it on heroic tonight. I hope I have your trinket luck. Gratz on that one. |
