**Drumroll** Introducing ....

"Titchnfthrs" (with thanks to those in the shoutbox for help renaming her).

Yesterday Titch "came of age", well .... she hit 40 and learnt how to change into a moonkin!

The change was immediately obvious, and not just 'cos of the rather tubby feathery rear that had replaced my slim nightelf, but the increase in armour and crit chance were very noticeable. Must say, after my mage it's really nice to play a magic user who can actually get hit instead of one shotted! Innervate is a truly awesome skill, and although she remains oom-y, this helps immensely.

Oddly enough, she's my first character who's a hybrid of any real sort and the first one who actually has a healing spell! And it's kind of liberating.

This brings me on to my aims for her which are twofold:

1. To be a good moonkin, by this I mean capable of decent dps. As well as good at maintaining GotW/MotW and thorns.

2. To be a good druid. I think the main thing about hybrid classes is to have good "3D" awareness, as a tank I appreciate nothing more than a ret pally swopping to healing if a healer dies; or a moonkin battleressing an important person. Part of this is a willingness to make a decision in the midst of a fight, swopping form/role when chaos sets in. Part of it, is ofc the willingness to change form and gear, before a fight to fit a role other than your main one. It will be an interesting experience to see how well I adapt, I only hope I manage to find some instance groups - might be time when she gets to 60+ to call in some guild favours As part of this I want to gain some knowledge about a simple cat and bear rotation, one I can use if needed, rather than swopping form and looking confused at an array of new buttons which mean nothing to me!

But for now she's heading off to Dustwallow, to level there, as all my other characters have been too high when they introduced the new quests there. I'm keen to run ZF as well, as I know a complete round of quests in there is easily a level and ofc ST for my druid quest. But before those I need to do some more skinning in STV to get her leatherworking up a bit more! She'll be my first skinner and leatherworker, so another new experience for me.

I've been convinced to try "clique" as a good healing add-on for when needed, and just need to either adapt current addons or get new ones for:
- keeping track of moonfire, roots and insect swarm dots
- swopping weapons, when swopping forms
- keeping track of MotW/GotW and thorns

As far as raiding goes, it's been quiet, several cancelled raid due to summer weather and holidays, but we've gained some new recruits and no one's gotten upset (yet) and left, so maybe we can start again soon.

Oo grats! Tonight, I'm going to get my druid to 20 for *drumroll* cat form and I can't wait! But I don't think I'll ever spec moonkin despite their hilarious dance. A mage, a warlock and a shadow priest has basically ODed me on spell dps. Since I've never played a melee class (levelling my prot war doesn't count), it promises to be very fun!

For keeping track of moonfire, roots, insect swarms... your best options are NECB or Chronometer.

Swapping weapons you can do with shapeshift macros.

MotW/GotW... no suggestions there.

ST Druid quests? Where are these and what level?
My Feral just hit 41, and all I keep thinking about is getting into Mara, my favoritest instance to date, and tanking it up through 50. Atlasloot shows a ton of great druid drops (aka Rogue drops, thanks Alent)
But I'll take aside trip through ST for a while if its a worthwhile quest line.

Every class has a unique quest that gives either a weapon or a trinket that sends you into ST for these stupid feathers... I think every class does, I know warrior and pally do - it's been so long.

Yeah, it's every class. That's where warlocks get their scythes.

The druid one is a bit painful actually, you have to kill the guy downstairs I believe, so have to kill the trolls and do the "use" pillar thing to get downstairs. A caster, healer and cat/bear reward for it though.
