This is probably old hat, but I still see these posts popping up regularly. I know that back in the day, my regular 5-man group waited way too long to go. Instead, we ran all the 5-mans non-stop (I was exalted most places before stepping foot in there) and had done some heroics (which aren't easy at all without Kara gear -- welfare epics weren't as common 10 months ago).

Up to recently my main was a Feral Druid, Exeter, on the US-Dalaran server. I tanked everything up to and including VR (several kills) and Lurker (several deaths).
