Trying Deep Wounds at 80 Raid 2

We went and cleared Naxx 25 tonight. Here's the parse from Patchwerk: http://wowwebstats.com/lgs6cmw5h6e3w...015&a=x1e9ab80
I was MTing, and I had to keep up my own shouts and debuffs, which held back my overall damage for sure. I also have a 2.5 speed weapon which reduces the possible damage on Patchwerk. However, you can still see from that parse that Deep Wounds is a huge amount of damage.
If you browse around the parse for the raid a bit, it holds up consistently. Deep Wounds was 10% of my damage for the entire night, definitely worth the three talent points.

If it only where 3 talent points then yes it would definetly be woth it.
But for many tanks it is more like 8 (or more) talent points to get Deep Wounds.
For me it would meen 3 fillers in tier 1 or 2 of arms tree and then 5 for Impale and Deep Wounds.

- Impale is worth it on it's own. You don't really lose anything by putting 15 points in Arms.
Posted 12-10-2008 at 06:17 AM by Rak - Parry, Impale, and Imp. HS are all perfectly viable. You've only got an extra two questionable points. Imp. Charge isn't bad, and you can do some interesting things with Rend in certain situations.

Very encouraging numbers. Deep Wounds is showing more and more that it's the best route for high dps as a tank. I think you'd find the numbers would be similar with a fast weapon. (and that your overall damage would be higher due to more opportunity for heroic strike spam)Posted 12-10-2008 at 04:08 PM by veneretio - Hmm, very interesting. I'm currently down to Impale 2/2 in Arms, and these numbers are making me re-think my spec a bit. Right now I'm at 12/5/53 (I'm 79), and I will probably experiment with deep wounds over the next week.
