So, better things to report this time around, which pleases me.

Despite having a second 25 man raid night cancelled (Wed 9th), our Sunday raid night was oversubscribed and we actually had a full raid group, which is nice, but we did have to bench players. There was a bit of a 'lolwut' moment when the newly recruited tank who was suffering from special snowflake syndrome didn't get a raid spot and promptly left the guild. Which in a way solves a problem for us since we'd rather find...

Not quite such a happy post this time.

We had our first cancelled 25 man raid last night and I for one am livid about it. Out of 45 unique accounts in the guild, 32-34 of which are raiders, only 20 or something appeared for our continuation of Ulduar 25 last night. Since we left off on Hodir on our previous night, going into what is a dps check for us undermanned was folly, we cancelled our raid and went to ToTC10 instead.

What I don't get is why, when people apply...

A little embarrassed to spot I've not updated in god knows how long, barring a blog about a multicoloured gelatinous orgy I found in my car.

To bring us up to speed:

• in March '09 I pretty much all but disbanded the guild I was GM of after inactives, drama llamas and role shortages got too much.
  Few weeks later joined a IRL friends' guild on another server. Several of the old guildies came with me.
  We all discover new guild is not for us (well documented elsewhere)

So, as has been described elsewhere, my experiences in this new guild have been less than satisfactory.

We had a somewhat enjoyable romp in Ulduar 10 man with a hand picked group, signups done well in advance on the calendar, stating that the raid leader will be picking who goes, yet there is all sorts of drama from people who either didn't bother signing, or haven't even bothered to gem or enchant gear then demand a spot. This asides we go in and get 3/4 in the siege wing down,...

Well thats the first week in of our new home.

It's been an eye opener. In the way that an angry gnome perched on your head ripping your eyelids up and over your forehead kind of way.

Overall, these guys make our old 3/9 BT pre 3.0 casual guild look like Ensidia, which I still think sounds like a tropical disease. There is a good solid core of experienced people but there are so many Donalds just getting carried through raids. Harsh, but true.
