Casual Meat-Wall Ruud the Lost, for now :D

I think I've about decided to just let my account run up until Wrath is released. My tank was started a couple of months ago (4-18-07, looking at the blog entry), so he is way behind the current state of the game, and it seems impossible to find a starting 25-man guild that is worth a crap right now. It makes sense; any guild with the inclination to run 25 mans and the ability to do so is well beyond Gruul and Mag at this point. And I'm so sick of Kara and Heroics I could die; every guild I find looking for a Kara-geared tank is really just looking for someone to run alts through Kara.

Did the PvP thing on the rogue for a bit, but after some unknown number of AV-Napoleons yelling "D to Glav1!" "Wut no D" "FAIL1" while heading for Stormpike, that got old.

I guess this is just incurable burn-out. I was trying to raise a little baby shaman alt, but that ironically sped the burn-out process up (i.e. he reached the barrens).

I'm proud of Ruud though. Prior to rolling him, I didn't think I'd ever be able to do the first Heroic. I felt that way again at level 40 (see the previous entry for details lol). But he's tanked his heart out through countless heroics, H-Mech, H-Bot, H-Pens, H-UB, H-MgT (that was fuuuun), etc. And I consider ALL of the 5 man tanking harder at the appropriate gear level than Kara. In Kara, there's a second tank and some form of crowd-control; easy mode and a half. And I have to admit that I do enjoy pulling aggro off of better-geared "Main Tanks" without the use of taunt (hint hint, generally if your rage bar is full ur doin it rong). The minimal CC H-MgT run was the greatest challenge I think I've faced, and really learned to appreciate the utility of a good hunter in that one.

Many thanks to you guys here at the spot. Every trick I know, I picked up here (except that thing my girl likes with the ice cube, sry, I got that one somewhere else).

My final words of wisdom which sum up as much as I can think of off the top of my head (that everyone who reads this already knows because you guys taught me ) -

You need 490.
Shield Slam, Revenge, Devastate x2.
Bloodrage during pull.
Thunderclap loves you more than you love it.
If the rogue fucks up he can Vanish.
The tree can't Vanish.
Take eng for god's sake.
If you didn't get the hint, use Heroic Strike. If you took it off your bar at 40, put it back.
Shield Wall at the first hint of trouble; if you wait you're too late.
Don't fail at math and come up short on your mount money; it's demoralizing (not that I would know).
On the topic of mounts, don't pass on [item]Swift White Hawkstrider[/item]; everytime a lock gets one god kills a puppy.

And finally: You need a DPS kit. Unless you tank every fight and have a farm toon, you need a DPS kit. If your PuG rogue can't handle that news at the start of the instance, get a mage; that's another sheep, and one less roll on your shiznit. Sap sucks. (this coming from a guy with a 70 rogue)

So that's that... not that I'm going to stop reading Tankspot anytime I'm supposed to be working . Pretty sure I'll be tanking again at level 71. With the playing field leveled by the expac, maybe I'll find a good home. So unless someone here knows of a good place for a tauren-tank to rest his head, I guess I'm done..... for now.

Been playing too much to call myself casual anyway hehe

Edit: ...................................strike all that. Got called up by a buddy to raid in his guild. Did Gruul, did Mag's. Own T4 Legs. Hooked again. Is Bullshit I tell ya. I thought I was gonna get out this time!
