1 sec please, ok, "/rw 1",charge.
I don't like waiting. Standing around.
I really don't like waiting if I don't know long it will take.
I really don't like it.
So when I rolled into raidleading in my guild we had some whipes because too many weren't ready. Out of range of healers, other tanks not being ready.
There's a saying: "you can't change a person so you got to adapt". My raid is convinced I won't change so they adapted.
Everyone is ready now, if a pack is dead, everyone is ready for the next. Which has already been marked. If loot is being distributed, the ones not rolling on it are already clearing the next trash. New people like the speed. Everyone is performing above expectations and we're clearing at an incredible rate.
I hope I'm not pushing it too much though, but if I ask for a ready and get a reply like: "1 sec please" or "2 secs" I say on vent "1" and start it or, "1,2" charge.
Last week we had some trouble on Thaddius, this week everyone was ready. He went down first attempt. One wing, a wing we cleared last week is all that seperates us from Sapphiron.
Three bosses. WotLK has 3 bosses left and then were done.
Did I push too fast? Nah I like fast. Fast is good.
We're going to need it in 3.1. Hope it comes...............fast.

Fast is no fun for me, but to each their own!Posted 12-29-2008 at 08:34 AM by blahism

It's all about getting your raid in the right mindset. People tend to slack if they think they can.
Last raid before christmas I held a little speech before we went, and for once we had two people on standby. By the end of the raid we had cleared Naxx, killed Malygos for the first time and Sartharion + drake for the first time. Not only was it great fun, but it boosts the guild spirit by a great deal.Posted 12-29-2008 at 08:59 AM by sevve

i like it when things go smooth, but i don't like rushing people. There is a vast difference between melding as a team vs rushing for the sake of speed.
I personally like seeing people rest up during loot rolls - let people appreciate the moment, re-buff/eat/bio break.
Obviously progression runs are a bit more professional fun but i wouldn't rush even those
As for pulling trash, i'd never want to see that happen during a raid unless everyone is ready. One person snoozing could be 9 or 24 repair bills.Posted 12-29-2008 at 09:23 AM by blahism

There's a fine line between a smooth run and rushing into things too hard. And I have caught myself rushing into things, every time we improve and things go smoother. We indeed try to get the rush out but also the slack.
We start at 19:00 and the summoning stone will be camped by alliance so if you're in orgrimmar you better hope there's a lock in the raid because if you're not there for the first boss it will be down without you.
This has worked wonders, no more endless summoning everyone's in the dungeon and ready at the start of raid.Posted 12-29-2008 at 10:29 AM by orcstar

If our raiders have time to stand around and talk about stuff completely unrelated to the raid, I take that as my signal that they're ready and I pull. For some reason the focus always stays raid centered when I tank =)Posted 12-30-2008 at 02:15 PM by Jimbozcrazy
