Ive been pretty down in the dumps lately. My guild has been struggling with attendance but we dont seem to try and rectify the situation becuase most of our guys have been around for 3years+ and breaking up the bunch with new members would be a problem.

I've been wanting to try for achievments mostly to make things a challenge in raids but for some reason people just want to get it over with. Monday night we finally started attempts on Sartharion 3D but too many people have been dieing to the lava wall and our druid tank feels that he doesnt need all that stamina and doesn't put in an effort to collect a different gear set for it. I want to kill that encounter but it just doesnt seem like it will happen. I also wanted to do it as a 10 man group. I know we can stack are raid to do it but it feels like theres no effort anymore we have killed two drakes in both 25 and 10 man but i know the difficulty is much higher when the third drake comes in.

I play my cards right and do what i need to do as a tank. I even have to carry a healer friend along with me in the fight telling them that a firewall is coming and if the dragon is casting a flame breath becuase the healer is the Sarth Drake tank. I just feel its more work for me becuase i myself still have to worry about the drake tanking positioning agro and then avoid the void spawns and lava waves. I just wanted to rant first blog post too i hope maybe you guys as me some questions on it. I just feel like i want the bleeding edge guilds where all players want to perform well but it seems recently that half the group is working at it.

Personally i wish they never came out with the achievement system.. Its a monumental effort to do regular raiding and now expecting to complete the achievements on top of that is more often than not a different game than most "raiders" would feel bothered to do. (IMHO)

I also find the achievement system artifically segrgates the haves and haves not. Now its not only sporting the best gear to get into the raids but sporting the best achievements.. If you don't simply burn through to be the first to get them the odds are you will linger around forever to get them or simply not bother.
