Raid Canceled...What to do?

We were going to work on Vash last night, but for some reason about 4 people were not online. Basically all of our ranged DPS. So we could not go. Raid was canceled, no one wanted to do ZA or Kharz. I had mined all weekend and had my potions stocked up for the weeks raids. What do?? I was bored, so I logged out of my Warrior and sat there staring at my characters screen. I looked at my lil' gnome mage and clicked on him. I blinked around a few times, dropped a blizzard on the people in front of the Scryer bank. Hmm What to do? I did not feel like questing. I know, I switched out his T2 hat for his ZG crafted Goggles and mounted up on the Epic Mechnostrider, much better! I sat there for a bit pondering all the time spent in MC and BWL that went into his gear. A Deranai mage rode up and sat there inspecting me. I'm sure he was trying to figure out where I got all of the epics with the crappy stats. hehe.

On a whim I decided to do an AV. I used to love doing BG's when I was playing a mage full time. I qu'ed up, and went straight in. That is usually a bad sign of a turtle I thought to myself. Well it was a full blown turtle. When in a turtle, its time to make horde soup I always say. Standing up on the ridge by the cave I noticed 2 druids and a rogue sneaking up on the single Bloodelf Paladin guarding Frostwolf Graveyard. Ah-HA! Time for fun. I jumped off on the little hill and promptly threw a blizzard on the Flag. I am spec'ed full ice, but it was still a surprise to see the guards and pally freeze in the ice. Woohoo! The druids and rogue attacked, and after some crazy blinking, ice novas and an Ice block. I still live, and we got the GY. Woot! The rest of the game I was on Drawbridge duty with a few others. Mostly sheeping people or dropping blizzards on pack as they tried to cross. It was alot of fun. I would pretty much get one or two shot anytime anyone got a hold of me, but I was still having a good time. I did not receive one evil tell for being a L61 noob in AV either. What was even more surprising was that I was #12 in damage lol.

So, I just re-qued and so on and so on. I never was greifed for being a low level, never finished below half way on the overall damage list. And even ended up with almost 7k BG honor for the evening. But best of all it was really fun trying to stay alive and find a way to contribute to the game against higher level players. Hmmm maybe its time to level an alt.... =]

That's exactly what I do when I am in that type of situation. Bravo for doing something good with your time.
