Raid tanking, Wow

So I finally hit 80 etc did some gearing and a crazy freind of mine says to me, "we could probbably hold you up in a 10 man Ulduar if your interested?"
So, A little bemused at his offer (I'm in Heroic epics and about 4 blue peices) I said sure, never been Naxx, OS, MAly etc etc.
And (as an OT granted) We got to yogg, and i got a lot of purples, since then ive been OT 25 mans with the rest of the guild and switched my main to my warrior (mages are probbably the most boring class i can think of atm)
So im still tanknig with Red Sword of courage and the 35 badge epic shield, my gears a little block heavy etc, then today I won My Tier 8.5 legs the day after I won my t8 hands, a bit of jiggling and now im using stonerender (no DEF rating was a little hard to gear into my set-up but christ is makes the difference) 30,5k HP 45% avoidance (unbuffed) hitting 24k armour, feels like its all clicked, Before my upgrades, as what i ASSUME was joke on our GM's behalf, I was told to tank Hodir, and guess what? Didnt die once (although i winced everytime I saw "Hodir begins using Frozen BLows" pop up) and he went down and i thought it was awesome.
So Now I'm starting to weed out my Old epics (Badge epics etc) I'm starting to feel like i'm actually coming along as a tank, Until blizz admits were a little lax in our threat gain and aoe tanknig potential, im sure im gonna be on the bench off tanking for the rest of Ulduar, bar the 3 encounters Wars are awesome in (Auriaya, Mim (rocking 4pc t8.5) and Hodir) But to be frank, Offtanking is fairly fun in its own right, but hey, what a month, to go from Heroics to ulduar to offtanknig ulduar 25 is a massive jump, still makes me laugh when i pug naxx and some one whispers "stats and acheve plz" and i whisper back "[Heroic: The Keepers of Ulduar] [Stonerender]" and they invite me straight away
Love this game so much more :P

Gratz on your raid spot
I've gone from a 10man MT To a 25man OT in a different guild, and i prefer it to MTing, Less pressure Normally, And it mixes things up as apose to, "Make this boss hit you, and avoid this"Posted 07-03-2009 at 02:07 AM by Mongface 
- Does the 4pc T8 affect Plasma Blast thing from Mimiron? I didn't assume it would, as the damage is that new one which avoids all resistances.
My guild doesn't use MT/OT positions, the tanks in the raid basically do a /roll to see who's tanking what =P.
Oh, and Warriors can be the "MT" for any encounter in Ulduar.
Anyways, a huge grats on your tanking spot, Ulduar is a great deal of fun. Here's to hoping the next raid is just as epic!Posted 07-03-2009 at 09:53 AM by Ferag - TY all, and according to the logs it seems to be magic damage, admittedly with 2/5 i'm the most geared war tank we have atm (as far as im aware mind) so we havent had chance to try it, food for thought though.
