So, I logged out earlier today out in HoL (after wipes and wipes of Heroic Lokan, and a bad conversation with my girlfriend, but that's another issue). I logged back in just now and went to fly back to Dalaran, but I was looking at my other screen reading the forums here. So, ya know how Dalaran is a no-fly zone? And how I was flying, and normally that wouldn't be an issue?

Except that, like I said, I was watching the other screen. And I had to go over a mountain at some point, so I was flying up. When I got "into" Dalaran, I couldn't even see the city I was so high.

More to the point... Dalaran is purrty.

/facepalm

I landed on one of the out-cropping rooms at the very top of the Violet Citadel in that picture. Least the view is nice up here.

I've done this on purpose before, only I wasn't so (un?)lucky as to land on a ledge. Sailed right past the Citadel and on to the outer reaches of Crystalsong Forest. Great view with Dalaran on one side, and Icecrown's fortress on the other.

It's smaller than I thought it would be. Looks great visually, and lots of flavor NPCs and such in the city, but I thought it would be bigger, for it being such a big deal in WoW.

Yeah, it really is an absolutely tiny city, but I quite like it. It feels more organized than Shatt does, and it's more visually appealing. Really, I only have 2 actual gripes about the city: That it's a dismounting zone (I hate dismounting zones... I can't tell you how many times I've died from them and been messed up in trying to go around Wintergrasp), and that the Horde and Alliance are completely banned from their sections of the city.

The latter part really only confuses me because of how they mingled all over the city in Shatt, and that it suddenly changed in LK.

My favourite thing about the city, though, I think is the escape-sewer tunnel. It's just plain fun flying through that and launching out towards Wintergrasp.

Yeah, I like this city as well....better than I initially liked Shatt, although that place grew on me over time. It kinda has a little bit of Stormwind feel to it (narrow cobbled streets/alleys).

Yeah, now that you mention it... it really is like a Stormwind, but smaller and less annoying (god I hate the water in Stormwind :P). It's fun running around in there, and see if running through the middle can actually make getting somewhere faster (like, say... from the Alliance inn to the BS and mining stuff).

Going to have to dissent here. Dalaran in my opinion is the mos till conceived city Blizzard has implemented to date. The thing is tiny and attract a huge number of people. Even my computer which is pretty good can't handle it. About to rebuild it next month which I am hoping will help but my computer is already better then what most people playing wow have. No matter how pretty the city might be it is meaningless if it can handle the load.
