Ramblings of the kited

I've discovered that taking my friend and suddenly dropping him into the world of PvP is not the greatest of ideas. Well, to be more accurate... taking my friend, who thus far had done maybe 4-6 battlegrounds, has never played anything other than a full-resto specced druid for more than a week and a half, and also hasn't even played the game in 6 or 8 months, having him transfer over to my server (praise the PvE->PvP transfers, we'd been waiting so long! ), getting him to change his spec to a PvP-resto build (13/11/37) and then taking him into the arena is not greatest of ideas. Even if he's had some hours of BGing under his belt since I've had him transfer over to Firetree.

We did some arenas, mostly for points since I knew we wouldn't do well. I've PvPed a decent amount on my rogue, but am only just starting to get into it on my warrior, and so I'm in the process of gearing him up. My friend, as mentioned above, is worse off. He keeps complaining about how much harder it is for him to have to keep track of what everyone's doing, keep himself and others alive and try to kite all at the same time.

Oh, and that he really likes the challenge.

It didn't occur to me just how tricky it was, though, until after the first two arena matches that we went to. After that, I took him outside Shattrath and told him to run away from me. I'm gonna have to hammer it into his head that the answer is always cheetah. Except when it's cyclone. Or cheetah. Especially cheetah.

He's learning, though. We only did this for about 10 or 15 minutes, and he had started to get away from me more and more easily. There were a few times where I just thought, "Crap, what do I do now?" As he spamfired me while I was rooted with my trinket on CD. I'm gonna have to keep going, and hopefuly get him to be able to be able to kill me a decent amount of the time. It also helps that he wants to do at least 3 arena matches and BGing every night, partly for gear, partly to improve.

On that note, does anyone happen to have any suggestions that I might be able to give him to help him in his kiting prowess? Or any other ways for me to force it into him? The next time, at least, I'm going to make sure that I start making a point of trying to kill him, so that he has to make sure to keep himself alive at the same time.
